Rings and amulets relative drop rate

Since I've been playing this game, perm or temp leagues, rings have always been the bottleneck for me. I have about 40 unid amulets in Talisman, 0 rings :<

Hrm. Well, the RNG is such a elusive topic. Its kind of like saying, does god exist,.. then you get a fight about proof among believers and non believers.


Another sample. I have done t1-t3 maps , yolo alching each one. Using low end maps for currency and item drops because I dont have to pay attention to the mods with my build.

After about 25 maps,.. 27 rings,.. 34 belts,.... 3 ammys.

My current IIR is 258.

I agree that RNG plays a factor but my current theory is, IIR does not affect amulets, or if it does, its a severly reduced amount to bottleneck the c recipe.

Before, when I had no IIR, everything dropped, according to my theory, at the same rate, base. So the sample would be affected by RNG evenly, give or take luck.

Now everything else is amplified by rarity, except ammys, so it appears that they are not dropping.

Actually, that one's relatively easy to check. Count the number of white helmets and belts you find, and the number of rare ones, and compare the ratios. And then ask 10k other people to do the same. If the average ratios are not the same, then IIR cares about the item type. But I really doubt it does.

The first couple of leagues I definitely got more amulets and very few rings. After that, it has been mostly rings. On 74+ maps that are rare, I seem to get a more even mix. I don't run enough of those for that to be even a reliable anecdotal measure though.

Every now and then, I will ID the excess ivl 78+ rings - I've yet to find a single one worth keeping though after I ID them. While I don't think GGG should boost the frequency of top end rolls on jewelry, I do think the extremes of lower tier mods on high ilvl items need to be drastically reduced.
