my whole point was that if a card's drop is supposed to be tied to rarity of the item in question, especially if the item doesnt drop normally anymore, then the card simply gives a part of the item in question, which is the fraction of the rarity.
some people tend to think that for some reason getting an item via cards should be easier- I don't see why this would be the case. a tough item to get will have cards that will rarely drop. 300 fast voll runs is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
expecting an ultra-rare card guranteed drop in 300 tries is unrealistic, and me bringing up that example was just saying how numbers dont stack up if it was to drop that often.
also Im fairly sure quantity on gear affects card drops, but maybe Im wrong here again.

But i still got your point though, if we use volls in your calculation and change the item value, it would not be great for getting value back for time spent farming unless you get a decent implicit(Not sure of value with bad implicits in standard..), but for its power to use it for a build it is definitely worth it.
Yeah quant helps on card drops, i'm just quirky and not counting quantity in "mfing", i blame d2 for that!^^
Because of the speed per run people are achieving i think 300++ runs per card is fine, even though with my patience i would never bother farming for it.
