Why does GGG hate auction houses?

Then all they need to do is shut down trading completely and boost up loot drops drastically. Kinda like you know... Diablo 3 did.

I mean, if trading is too prominent for you.

That would indeed be the best solution IMO.
Playing the game is now more rewarding than spamming the chat? wow, what a concept.

No one is arguing that the in game trade options (chat) is horrendous, outdated and painful to use, but since this game wants you to trade, not implementing a clear easy means to do so is irresponsible on GGG's part.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be trade. I'm fine with trading. What i'm not fine with is the system that it uses because most people avoid it, and those who do use it control the prices, which then fluctuate like crazy by day. The economy is in the gutter now and it's all because of the horrible system.

If something like poe.trade or acquisition/procurement woudl be implemented, the economy would stabilize, and everyone could get back to like you said - playing the game and actually having fun.

I disagree. I think that asynchronous trade has to happen somehow. I tried buying something a week ago, and every response was, "Sorry, I'm not doing any non-Talisma trades now."

I'm sorry, i'ts 4 AM here now, and i'm not getting what you disagree with because you quoted a lot, and i'm not getting what part do you mean, what statement do you disagree with. Can you please elaborate?

As for asynchronous trade, do you mean between leagues? Because idk if that would be a good idea. Again, 4AM, i'm in no position to thing right how. :P

I'd be happy with just the account wide messages for starters TBH. As it is now, when i find some goods on poe.trade and message that "online" seller, most of the time i get "this character is not logged in". Meaning they play another character at the time, and i can't do anythig because i don't know which one.
I was going to add a rather long post to this thread, mostly in response to Sickness, but I decided to make a new thread instead.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Don't think the current game engine will allow GGG to build in a trade system, the index function is pretty poor, there is not even a guild search/index function once you friend go offline you cannot even check them from game as well.

It wouldnt surprised me that the POE trade is running/back by GGG. It's the realistic(a rather small and limited team) we have to accept with GGG, we just cannot ask for the same service from what Billizard can provide.

I would be pretty happy if Billizard can take over the studio and sack all the diablo 3 team.

Nah. Blizzard is a soulless company. I want them nowhere close to PoE. Activision would make it just as bland and boring as D3 to increase their profits.

Anyway I find it more likely that the poe.trade is more likely to be backed by big time traders or RMTers. That is just speculation though.
Keep PoE2 Difficult.
I quit this game because there was no AH and item filter 2+ years ago.

Cam back this weekend, played a little, the item filters are amazing. No AH still, and considering you need trading in the end-game and I dont want to deal with nolifers 16-hour a day poe traders sharking me see ya until AH is implemented.

I just spent an hour hunting down items in Standard on poe.trade just to have people claim they're not trading in Standard anymore because of Talisman, and even when they do switch over, they can't find the item. What's the alternative? Spamming what I want in channel 1 trade chat? Is this the much-lauded "player interaction" they love so much? It's taught me to hate people and to quit PoE because I can never buy anything despite swimming in currency.

We all hate AH.
AH will kill game economy.

Same reason blizzard hates in D3

IT WAS FUCKING AWFUL.

But that was mainly because D3's character design was so bland it was unreal.

- You only got Main Stat + Vitality.
- There was no Cast Speed, everything was around Attack Speed, no logic at all.
- No +1 to specific Skills or All Skills, it was just %Phys/Arcane/Etcetc Dmg.
- Drops were godawful. Items dropped with multiple weird rolls, making the item useless.
- Droprates were godawful.

STOP USING D3'S AUCTION HOUSE AS AN ARGUMENT, IT WAS SHIT BECAUSE THE GAME WAS SHIT, END OF STORY.

Wasn't it the Real Money side of the auction house that killed D3, not the fact that it had an auction house?

I thought everyone loved the auction house in D3, just hated that it had a Real Money side to it.
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-

It was a mix of the real money auction house (which was to fight rmt'ing) and the poor itemization really.
