Why does GGG hate auction houses?

All of you fearful chicken littles hate AHs because of Diablo 3, without even being able to understand that the AH is not what was wrong with D3. The problem was Zimbabwe levels of inflation coupled with the ability to buy items and additional gold with real world money.

No. The inflation never bothered me much. I made some money on the RMAH so that's the only silver lining.
The problem I had with AH was that it was by far the best way to get loot. It's boring. Trading is already too prominent in PoE and an AH would just make it worse.

Then all they need to do is shut down trading completely and boost up loot drops drastically. Kinda like you know... Diablo 3 did.

I mean, if trading is too prominent for you.
The best and the biggest quality of life addition/feature to the game for me would be a Guild Wars 2 style trading system.

I do not ever want to have to deal with people when I buy or sell items.
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-

You seem to desperatly need this: http://pbskids.org/arthur/games/factsopinions/factsopinions.html
Come back when you have completed your training.

Nothing I have stated is an opinion. So nope. Economic realities are economic realities.

If your problem with the AH doesn't have to do with the economy than that is a different issue. Most people are under the impression that the mere presence of an AH ruined Diablo 3's economy. That is simply, factually, not true. Maybe you need help with reading that link? When someone states 2 + 2 is 4 that isn't an opinion.

Anyway. If you didn't like the AH DON'T USE IT. Problem solved little bud.
Keep PoE2 Difficult.

I just want to make one thing clear for everyone: Diablo 3 was a failure before Reaper of Souls because of the low legendary drop rate. The second they kicked it up, we could get stronger, fight the ridiculous blue monster packs, and enjoy the game as it was meant. The AH/RMAH was not an issue at all. People blamed it because it was new - it was an easy scapegoat and the biggest difference between D2 and D3. Am I really the only one who remembers so many D3 strategy guides recommending that you just run when you meet blue packs? Running away was a legitimate strategy! That'd be like me telling you, "When you see Malachia, just run the fuck away. Don't even bother drawing aggro."

And second, players do want a better trading system. Maybe not AH, but the popularity of poe.trade and Acquisition, among others, proves that people need massive improvements.

You were saying that we don't understand the problems we had with the AH. Like the problem you had with it is the only possible one. Please just follow the link and and learn something.

Just like GGG balance the game around trading today, they would do so with an AH presence, and it would have a far greater impact.

That would indeed be the best solution IMO.
Playing the game is now more rewarding than spamming the chat? wow, what a concept.

If trading's too prominent, not sure how that's possible, fix that problem, don't hamper one feature of the game to make up for how another feature sucks.

It can only be fixed by slowing down trade (removing the ability to link items from the game to the web for example, that would be great) or by making items bound.
Don't think the current game engine will allow GGG to build in a trade system, the index function is pretty poor, there is not even a guild search/index function once you friend go offline you cannot even check them from game as well.

It wouldnt surprised me that the POE trade is running/back by GGG. It's the realistic(a rather small and limited team) we have to accept with GGG, we just cannot ask for the same service from what Billizard can provide.

I would be pretty happy if Billizard can take over the studio and sack all the diablo 3 team.

No one is arguing that the in game trade options (chat) is horrendous, outdated and painful to use, but since this game wants you to trade, not implementing a clear easy means to do so is irresponsible on GGG's part.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be trade. I'm fine with trading. What i'm not fine with is the system that it uses because most people avoid it, and those who do use it control the prices, which then fluctuate like crazy by day. The economy is in the gutter now and it's all because of the horrible system.

If something like poe.trade or acquisition/procurement woudl be implemented, the economy would stabilize, and everyone could get back to like you said - playing the game and actually having fun.

Sorry but if someone can program a whole website and 2 separate programs by themselves (not stating all was done by the same person) that index and search all the thread shops for items, shows them to you and how much they cost, AND with programs you can set prices for your items and it will automatically generate a code so it can be searchable on poe.trade, plus, it automatically can refresh your online status...

... then there is no excuse for what a "small team" can and can't do...

If they can program a whole league, the passive tree each league change, new gems, new items, new everything, they can certainly program the in game indexing option and shops. They just don't want to.
