Why does GGG hate auction houses?

I just spent an hour hunting down items in Standard on poe.trade just to have people claim they're not trading in Standard anymore because of Talisman, and even when they do switch over, they can't find the item. What's the alternative? Spamming what I want in channel 1 trade chat? Is this the much-lauded "player interaction" they love so much? It's taught me to hate people and to quit PoE because I can never buy anything despite swimming in currency.

why not play talisman league? fresh economy..
standard's economy will always be crap. i wouldn't be surprised if there are people with stacks of mirrors on standard. |

The low legendary drop rate is what made it awful. And in case you haven't noticed: everybody uses poe.trade, anyway. They're right. The "fun" in this game is overcoming adversity. If there was an auction house, the fun would be sucked out of the game because there would be no challenge left that couldn't be overcome with farming currency for the AH, what ever that currency happened to be.

I personally just want procurement/acquisition and poe.trade to be implemented in game to make things easier. This encourages people to be online because with an auction house you're competing against offline people. I also LOVE the whole experience of shopping for an item, and it's so satisfying when you finally find a perfect item, especially when it's for a steal.
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.
