Donald Trump
"He's right; they have one for Trump, too. Presumably. It'd be weird if they didn't. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Sure it would be great if Robert Satiacum would get Trump elected as president,
but can we all agree how fucking retarded the whole voting system is in the first place? Obviously I'm european, and I don't even care to study how the US elections really work, but this is my impression atm: First you let the population vote, and instead of just counting all those votes and electing a winner, you have some meta/sub/post vote validation process with A SMALL GROUP of people, who in the end can technically VETO and flip whatever the nation has voted?? THAT if anything seems to be in place for no other reason, but to buyout/blackmail/extort those few on the top, to have them put someone in the office regardless of how the voters voted? Did I miss something or is this the most fucked up thing ever to have in a "democratic" election?? "Im smartest. Your stoped. Dael wiht it." Last edited by Quantume#0700 on Nov 8, 2016, 12:32:34 PM

^ it's an archaic system that worked well 200 years ago but definitely could use an overhaul

"Back when the Constitution was being made, there were big states, small states, and those in between. After deciding that one of the two legislative houses would have two votes per state - a victory for small states - the small states continued to argue that the President should be elected by the legislature - essentially the Prime Minister system. This ran into opposition on two fronts: those who wanted a straight popular vote (large states), and those who were worried about Congress having too much power, eroding the "checks and balances" system (medium states, who had little selfish reason to prefer either option). To reach a compromise, the small states suggested what is essentially a one-time separate Congress, with total votes equal to the Congress formula of population*x+2, which decides the Presidential election. This won over the medium states and made it into the Constitution. It's insanely stupid that we still have it. It's based on entirely selfish preservation of power in a weird compromise made over 200 years ago. And no, xav, it never worked well, it just served certain interests. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. I got some questions about the "state winning" votes...
Okay let's say we got Red vs Blue in wonderland with 5 states (ABCDE). Red vs Blue votes are in: A) 9000:500 B) 400:600 C) 300:700 D) 200:400 E) 100:300 Red had a landslide win in A, but Blue won the remaining 4 states. Years later before the next election, Red voters have moved out of A into different states, and the new election votes look like this: (-4000 from A, +1000 into every other state). A) 5000:500 B) 1400:600 C) 1300:700 D) 1200:400 E) 1100:300 So Red wins every state. Is this how it goes? Is it really this stupid? I know it's not this simple, and you probably can only vote in a state which you are registered in, but theoretically you could move the surplus of voters into a state where their vote would make a change? You mean what's to stop people from uprooting their lives, quitting their jobs, spending moving money, risking tremendous economic uncertainty, and moving away from their friends and family, all to go to another state and add a single vote to that state's total?
I have no idea what's stopping them. That's a real head scratcher. Last edited by Jennik#1783 on Nov 8, 2016, 5:54:47 PM
