Wow, that's insane. This should have been a big opportunity for the GoP to present conservative ideals that represent a forward looking inclusive party via kasich or rubio and instead we have a nominee that caters to these kinds of people. /sigh

What are the chances that any candidate is going to be able to (or try to) screen the attire of thousands of rally attendees?

What are the chances that journalists' obvious bias over the last 8+ years has offended people before Trump?

What are the odds we could find lots of polls saying that the public's opinion of the media
has been very low for a long time?

Kasich and Ben Carson would certainly have more civil campaigns. Rubio seems to have more self-interest, so who knows what he might have devolved into.

Consider this - where would the BLM movement be if the media tried to hide it as much as they tried to hide Wikileaks?

We need honest journalism as much as we need good leaders. The first amendment isn't listed first as a matter of convenience. It is the most important amendment. Without it, the rest of the Constitution would surely die a slow death.

The only reason people aren't realizing this is because they have been brainwashed by:

1) A piss poor educational system that isn't willing to accept criticism and make the effort to improve.

2) Journalists who somehow learned and retaught others that the importance of the fourth estate is in controlling minds, instead of freeing minds from disinformation.

In #1 above, I am saying the SYSTEM is poor, not the people involved in teaching, who are usually dedicated to doing their best, often with inadequate resources. The system needs an overhaul. Not a knee jerk - fix things this way now - overhaul, but one with lots of research, consultation, input, testing and reevaluation. The same way farming was improved and set on the right track in America long ago.

My issue isn't with what the shirt says, or the company making money off it, or the guy wearing it - he feels like this regardless of the shirt and feels like he has a strong (anti) political voice presenting his opinions, or any kind of lack of attire screening/issues with journalism bias etc.

My issue is we have a nominee who has been actively seeking these kinds of people and encouraging divisive rhetoric at the expense of trying to expand the republican brand.

Some of these simple minded fucks actually need to be led, to be frank, and look to strong forward thinking republican leaders (paul ryan) for leadership. We needed new packaging this election cycle to increase the appeal of the republican brand to minorities, college educated, and people like anti-establishment trump supporters and trump has been taking the party in the opposite direction, resulting in t-shirt guy and my utter disgust for it.

Trump, t-shirt guy and all the t-shirt guys he's appealing to are actively hurting the republican brand where we should be easily expanding it. And who knows what else is in store for the party after hillary wins.
I'm really hoping for a tie. I know it's very unlikely but the aftermath would be pretty epic.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

A tie won't happen. If it comes down to a push, this guy will be electing Donald Trump.

Hopefully, Robert Satiacum is smart enough to stay away from the gym and have witnesses around him at all times for the next 48 hours, so he doesn't get Hillaryized.

DL, do you honestly believe Hillary Clinton has people who bother her assassinated? I call you insane in part because you keep posting the most insane of conspiracy theories in a way that seems genuine.

Trump and his stance are as much a product of this election cycle as this election cycle is a product of him. The GOP could have embraced Trump as one of their own from the beginning, but they chose to continuously paint him as an outsider. The GOP could have declared that they would not try to have delegates interfere and let the people choose their nominee, but they openly discussed side tracking what the people voted for. Once the nomination was made, the GOP could have thrown their support behind Trump, but they chose to distance themselves from him.

You can look at the funding that usually chooses to support the GOP nominee vs the tiny percentage that actually supported Trump.

The gulf between Trump and the GOP is a two way divorce.

Paul Ryan needs to get his balls back. He completely let this whole mess slide, when he could have brought a lot more pressure and congressional action to bear.

If you aren't familiar with the "We're mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore" movement that Gingrich utilized to draft his Contract with America, I'd suggest taking a look at it. The disgust with the GOP was there long before Trump. If you want a timeline, I'd suggest the magic between the average republican and the GOP finished evaporating in 2009.

The GOP left its voters, not the other way around.
