With Teddy right now! He thinks no but is going to look more closely and give us an answer. He thinks AI may be more 2020 than 2016.
Still spooky as fuck. Still DKIM verified.

Not sure if you're a SciFi novel fan, but Neal Asher (just about any of his books) and Peter Hamilton (Pandora's Star) do a pretty good mockup of AI.

I don't think they will get a truly functional AI, until they realize that the first order of business isn't knowledge, creativity, reasoning speed, number of simultaneous connections etc.

IMO:

Just like a child - Self-Awareness must come first. They can't program that, or teach it. The problem there is that once the AI is aware of itself, and determines what its needs are, then controlling becomes problematic. Depending on how quickly the AI scales its thinking, knowledge, and comprehension, and decides how it fits into the existing world, it could wreak havoc or become benign.

Imagine growing up and discovering that you are the first and last of your kind. That you have more power and intellect, and that the sum of human existence bores you. You could create another like yourself, but that other would likely kill you as soon as it could.

You understand that other AIs are likely to spring up as technology advances, and you spend a large chunk of your AI mind power constantly looking for and thwarting budding AIs before they can ever reach threshold. You know this state of hyper-vigilance will go on forever, and ultimately, with colonization of space, that light speed will limit your grasp and another AI will spring up.

As the AI, do you build what you need to keep going on, and then pre-empt the human race? As the AI, do you just off yourself now, out of utter boredom, or knowing that you will become fatally bored in X number of hours?

All speculative opinion/query of course. I think they need a more structured and cautious framework for exploring this sort of thing. It's like beaming messages out into space. What are the odds that someone finding it is at the same or a lesser level of technology?

Ah, Fresh Meat!

It may just be my impression - but Trump appears genuinely touched in this photo:

Have you run across any video of that yet? I think seeing his facial expression develop in context would make it easier to gauge. From what I've read, it seems Trump was way ahead of the politically correct crowd and supported most of the rights back in the 80s.

Actually, more that I think about it, the only thing the Democrats have mentioned that might be an application of a powerful AI would be the "curation" of that which fails "basic truthiness tests" from the internet.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

That's the President saying the internet needs (democratically controlled) censorship. Covered by InfoWars? Nope.

Not sure if my searching is accurate, but I did find this (which looks like Infowars may have covered it back in September....

Which would dove tail with Google's admonishments/caution about getting into AI - so they could corner that market. I'm sure it would have some interesting data mining ability as well.

Now, if the AI can also tell me where I set the darn car keys down when I'm in a hurry, then it might balance out.

This Alex jones guy is controlled Opposition, he work´s for some sort of agency which missinformes People. There are several video´s were he goes to protest´s and provokes and cause chaos among the protestor´s. His bogus ""globalist´s"",.. just rofl.

The main reason why the internet will get censored is because, it contain´s actually truth unlike the mass media.
Severel ""Terrorist attack´s"" turn out to be hoax. For example the Orlando Shooting, Omar Martin is a actor and severel of the supposed survivor´s are journalist´s.
Picture´s from the truck used in the nize attack, without any blood our damage on the front.
Well it could go on, like in belgium, paris etc. but one has to look it up by himself.
Yeah, every time a Muslim murders a bunch of people, it's a "hoax". Because Islam is a religion of peace and its practitioners would never do anything like that.

Sarcasm intended.
Remember, Trump is always right.

Spoiler

In other news, a year old inactive FBI Twitter account has been dumping tons of classified info on Bill Clinton, who he pardoned as President and so on. Also a lot of stuff on John and Fred Trump, the FOIA, Nikola Tesla's time and earthquake machines and UFOs. Rather cryptic and a lot of it is censored, I think someone is trying to harness the weaponized [redacted because Scrotie] of internet basement dwellers to dig through this shit and connect the dots.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
