And that is what you call "cheap"?!? LOL!
Cheap is a dual core 3 years old computer with a crappy video card.

Letting that aside, I would be interested too to see what kind of computer you need to play Path of Exile at max settings. Maybe some lucky beta accounts owners could post their system specs here?

A Laptop with:

Intel Core i7 - 2720QM @2.20GHz
16.0 GB Ram
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Nvidia GTX 580m

1920x1080 resolution

All setting in PoE are on the highest setting, I get around 100 Fps average, with 15- 20 NPC's on the screen in full battle.

you can pick up a computer like this at our local tech store for about 1500, so yea it's cheap these days :P
Fun things, Sad things... We can't share everything, But what we can, we should share... That is what it means to be a guild. A single persons happiness is everyone's happiness. A single persons anger is everyone's anger. And a single person's tears are everyone's tears.
Sig, runs on max settings very smooth unless there is a level up, then there is a half second delay.

Running on Alienware M15X laptop maxed out.

If your computer cannot run this game in max settings you are way behind in computer performance.
My computer can run Path of Exile on maximum without a single drop of FPS, except on a level-up(Half a second, as already mentioned.)

ATI Radeon HD4730(512MB. 2.2GB shared)
4GB RAM
AMD Athlon II X2 250. ~3GHz
1920x1080
My old PC:
C2D E5200 @ 2.5ghz, P5QL, Radeon 4850 [CCC 10.12], 2x1GB DDR2, windows XP and directx 9c [4.09.0000.0904], full screen res 1280x1024

Settings: http://i.imgur.com/qXjmp.jpg [except resolution, which was 1280x1024]

Most stressful place in game in 0.9.3 patch, all tests made in combat with a lot of enemies.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArginHdKp-YwdGRhYkJPS05UVnNxaUpDZHRUVTVRdXc&hl=en_US#gid=0

In every other areas i had 50+ fps all the time.
Game is really well optimized, much better than D3 actually.
