(RESOLVED) Latency Spikes with ASUS GamerFirst software installed

Are you quite sure you're using the video card when playing PoE?

All that driver stuff and dxdiag?

Does the --nosound launch option fix it?

EDIT 2:

Suspicions confirmed - this only happens in towns (to my current knowledge, have not partied with anyone yet and had them enter/leave a map or instance)

I played in the docks a bit and had no issues with these spikes.

I will say this IS new, because on my win 7 machine, I never had the game freeze for seconds at a time just because users were entering/leaving town.

I play on the Washington DC server, and I never had any lag when I played weeks ago. This week, however, I have noticed small lag spikes (may be 1/3 to 1/2 a second) when in busy towns. However, in towns with few people or out on my own it's fine. I just chalked it up to the PoE server since my own gameplay is fine.

So, when you say lag spike, how long? A fraction of a second or more than a second? I never see anything more than a fraction of a section. You said seconds, but just want to confirm that. And what server are you on?

I really saw it as "unplayable" when in a town like A4 Merci (in standard, for example)

Players constantly entering/leaving would basically leave me in a lock step 'deadlock' where I would see potentialy 1-2+ long second bursts of client-side freezing

Do you have geforce driver version 10.18.13.5906? What's the NIC driver? Get me that dxdiag please!

Problem is still happening.

Wanted to post a thread I found:

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?49060-Game-First-III-Problems-on-Maximus-VII-Hero

I uninstalled GamerFirst, and I did notice improvements in town - I still get spikes when players enter sometimes, but for some reason it felt more smooth. Could also just be time of day and not many people coming in/out....

Either way, I'll keep updating with things I find

Glad you found the source of this mysterious warpspeed bug, I had no idea ROG included a traffic shaper in the bundle.
Updated initial thread in case anyone else has similar issues.

Changed title as well to be more correct

OMG I love you!
