My bits on Ascendancy classes + the best solution I have seen proposed so far

People will cry but nothing will happen to diversity and no ones game is going to be affected in any meaningfully negative way...

Scion should 1000% only get 1 sub class because they are always extremely efficient being able to path into pretty much anything they want to do. They are NOT meant to be a specialized class either. If you were to give them multiple sub classes it would make no sense as to compared to the others.

If anything i believe that Mara/Ranger/Witch should get 3 sub-classes since they are primary 1 dimensional (mostly), the hybrids should have been locked at 2 each and scion stick to 1.

On the issue of change and builds becoming broken i would have to say that im sorry. The game needs to evolve and change and even though you are upset by the changes you must know that this kind of thing is needed in order to keep the game in a place that is overall better. Max block for example was completely broken and now that you're mortal you feel the need to complain that your character is less efficient. Well thats just how this game operates and you need to tough up and move forward.

I wouldn't worry too much about the scion. It might only get one subclass but I have a feeling it will look like the Slayer layout but with a third leg going down so that it can continue to be the jack of all trades with each of the scion starting branches supported in some way.

Ya this is gonna fuck me over either way because I have so many classes 90, and so many different builds now. I gotta pick which classes are better with which ascendancy classes which is just a major pain in the ass, and also they changed the skill tree. Which also makes more of my classes on the right side of the tree that are shadow and ranger better if they were sion. Sion only has one ascendancy wheel ....... People so mad over scion being op for so long but the whole point of sion was that she can do anything be any build be flexible and in most cases be the best class for a lot of builds. Even more so since jewels are in the game they need to make up their fucking mind up make sion op or make sion shit because there is no in between unless they do a lot more work on the tree.

Will be interesting to see when people finally understand this and also understand that Ascendancy classes won't reduce flexibility as much as they think, but open their eyes to the pseudo-flexibility that isn't as good as they think. I know the topic has been a bit necro'd, but I'm all for classes actually having a purpose and this 'do anything you want' mantra is at last being dealt with and shown that it's not all it's cracked up to be.
