Why is corrupting blood physical and not chaos?

>life ball
fair point >monster mod description where CB got different color doesn't help if it's already dead after 489432189456 incinerate hits in one second >and party members to warn about CB. in 2 seconds? like, really? We also have red balls around our character and CB status effect icon in buff section... but who looks there every second anyway? So in the end we have our life ball - just because it's the biggest visual indicator of "ohshitsomeshitishappening" - and literally nothing else because we can't be bothered to look in 10 places every fkn second. Sound could be good addition because it uses another information channel that could be used independently of our sight. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

" It would be easier if 90% of my attention was not focused on navigating the terrible maze like map layout all the while looking at the ground for items and maintaining a good attack/move pattern and if you're unlucky enough to be in a party, dealing with 15 fps gameplay due to everyone and their mother playing a mjol discharge char who also ironically mandate no other laggy builds in the same party. Really I'm at a point where i just spam chug all 5 flasks once every 6 seconds. making CB easier to hear in addition to making it not nearly instant kill evasion characters on vulnerability maps is not unreasonable. Give corrupting the same sound effect as puncture bleeding and remove the sound effect from golems because those things are puncture magnets, which is a good thing. IGN: Arlianth

" dont attack mob before you see his mods, easy. party members can also read mod affix before other memebrs will be close. "Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy? There is no such thing, and never has been. And the reason
is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms." |

"Easy but not always fun, at least for me. And it isn't easy to play without having fun. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

Back to the notification thing. The red balls and draining life globe are good but...
It is weird that ranged attacks and spells trigger the effect from a distance. It would be a nice addition if some graphic occurred that would make the effect make sense to be apply from range. Soul Eater mod has a beam that connects the champ to the deceased. Searing Bond, Ancestral Bond and Bond of Bloodline mod also show a beam that connects the mobs or Totems. Even more simply, ranged attacks all have a graphic showing the projectile, or whatever is causing damage, traveling from origin to target. I would love to see a a thin bolt of red lightning that strikes you from the corrupting blood/bloodine mobs. Even with some sort of sound effect (ffffffffffff-splat). It would give more notice to the bleed being applied but it would also make it make sense how it gets applied from a distance. Everything else about Corrupting Blood/Bloodline is fine. Pay attention and carry a staunching flask. Wolf I'll take "Swords" for two hundred Alex.

" You are forgetting the light radius which gives an extremely clear vision about whether you are dying or not. Of course less in lighter maps, but it's still very visible and a very clear indication that something is going on. Remember the low life builds that always complain about not being able to see anything. And as Vipermagi said, have immunity to bleeding on a either a utility flask or mana flasks. With a utility one you have a long immunity time (normally more than enough to kill any rare mob), with mana flasks you have more uses. Putting it on a life flasks is just the worst choice. I only have 1 bleeding immunity flasks and I've never been killed by it when I'm paying attention and if I actually have such a flask with me. Great PoE utilities!

@OP: because CB is the new Reflect.
the crowd cried to much about reflect, they nerfed it and put in CB. basically like the old reflect but you have slighty more time to react and survive. going chaos damage would make it pointless for ci users. physical hurts everybody. /thread Last edited by NomadFX#0730 on Nov 19, 2015, 10:28:50 AM

Except Corrupting Blood was introduced when Reflect was still strong :/

And reflect still hurts if you do any amount of physical and don't have armor. My evasion based Puncture/TS ranger with like 10k dps easily 1 shots itself against more than 2-3 monsters and if I'm unlucky I could probably kill myself to reflect on a single rare. I used him in Ambush as Evasion which was great. Now I use him once in a while to do dailies in Standard and the only thing that gets me is reflect. I found a rare map a few weeks ago and decided to run it unid for funsies. 13% physical reflect. I get in, see map mods, thought "maybe if I go slowly", TS into the first pack, 4.7k hp dead. Left the map.
No amount of corrupting blood stacks will do that. My evasion dagger reave has 8+ attacks per seconds, I get 10-15 stacks of corrupting blood almost instantly and yet with no armor and barely 3.1k hp I still haven't died to CB yet on him. Just need to carry flasks. No flasks will save me on phys reflect though. I even started to run 2 granite flasks so I can keep 100% uptime. |

" realy? i didnt manage to die to reflect once with a 300k AOE flicker toon since reflect was nerfed. ZERO armour. Last edited by NomadFX#0730 on Nov 19, 2015, 11:59:59 AM
