There's a known shrine effect that spawns a map in the map device in the eternal laboratory, if you haven't picked it up this would be one cause. I'm very suspicious there might be others as well though, something about that winding pier... I wonder if Hillock-Senpai will notice me when I go to town?? Think there's 6 of those. On the 'items hidden somewhere weird' - the Divination Card outtray might be a location to check. Certainly a weird place.
