Oh, I just remembered another thread if you want to try this:

It will show how all of your nodes add up in text so if you do subtract your gear and allocate everything on it, you'll be able to figure out your base stats.

Not the solution you're looking for, but a possible workaround :P

I think the best/simplest (for us users at least) is for GGG to change the Character form so that if you left click on the blue circle showing your character's total intelligence (for instance) you get a pop-up showing a breakdown of how that number is being calculated. This breakdown would show your base amount plus what's coming from passives, equipment, etc.

From a UI standpoint, they would also have to extend hover text to let the user know that clicking actually does something now.


What do you think? Is there an alternative method that might work better?

Or do you think that this isn't an issue worthy of GGG's development resources? (and if you do think this, please post what the max level PoE character you've rolled so far, cause I can't see how to level beyond a certain point without having to obsess about your base attributes when leveling gems)

I think your idea is worth at least 35 micro-transaction points, account based of course.

I got some points ready to spend on something.

I dont' want a pink glowy sword.

Thanks for the link! I think the build comparator in the OP is the real find there though. Really makes it easy to see the differences between builds.

As for the Grease Monkey script... I think I'll also find it useful for theory-crafting. Unfortunately it doesn't really help with the underlying concern that caused me to create this thread in the first place, which was over-leveling my gems and then finding that a simple equipment swap, like going from leveling gear to farming gear, could prevent me from using my favorite skill gems.

OHHH!!! You probably meant that you're willing to pay GGG the 35pts for the feature I proposed (though I still think I should get a cut/commission! <grin>).

I also completely agree with your subtext that "Account Features" are the only things worth spending pts/$$$ on.
