Please make Portal gem do something extra at level 2

Lucky corruption :P Anyhow, I think it's a crying shame that portal doesn't do anything special at level 2. Why not? You could give it 100% increased cast speed or something. It really doesn't matter. Just make it do SOMETHING. Ideas: 100% increased cast speed supported by level 1 cast when damage taken supported by level 1 cast on death automatically teleports to town on use (and makes a portal to go back) More ideas from the community are welcome. If I remember correctly, using the gem isn't supposed to be faster than opening your inventory and clicking a scroll. And CWDT + Portal seems neat at first but gets really annoying after a while (and a few misclicks, especially in maps.). Something like Cast on Death would probably work, though. :-)

" It's actually not supposed to level. I used a vaal orb on one that I had just to see what would happen, and it went up to level 2. Unfortunately, right now it doesn't do anything differently than a level 1 portal gem would. I'd like to see that change. |

" It doesn't, that's just an aberration coming from vaaling the gem. Back to the topic : we've got to keep in mind that we can virtually get that gem to almost level 10, so we'd need something still valid at "high levels". Also, there's not much design space for that gem's level. |

" That's true! It should definitely scale with levels when you link it with empower or put it in a +1/+2 item! The only thing I could think of would be cast speed. Give it 100% increased cast speed per level, in addition to the bonus from quality. THAT would be great. Also, while we're talking about corrupted portal gems, what about Vaal portal? It could work like this: once you kill enough mobs, it can instantly summon a portal AND put you through it. No need to click on the portal, it just takes you right back to town. |

" ya it did, and then they nerfed it for god knows what reason, botting maybe? I dunno, seems a bit silly, only noticed the other day when random chatter led me to link my lvl2 portal in global. It should do something, lots of cast speed, something, anything tbh, anything worth while or remotely fun. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
