Remove chaos resist cap of 75%

Consequence would be pretty obvious, I think that would be interesting to the game.

CI? Chaos damage is actually the only form of damage that you can mitigate completely.

I disagree. When you're capped now, chaos damage sources are basically unnoticeable. Ok, Bameth still hurts a bit in maps, but are there any other real threats? Honest question, I haven't noticed any.

i'd prefer more resists in the tree, though not so little as 0.5% unless it's scattered liberally about and with something else of use, maybe even in just the plain stats nodes

YOu can already get chaos res up to 79 with safellis frame and 80 with legacy i think thats easily enough.

It would enable low life no shavs builds. Right now even with 70 chres you'll be annoyed playing with 500-700 life. With 85+ it would be more doable. Now that low life is balanced, it might be worth considering.

I have played low-life builds for over two years now without ever owning or wanting a shavs(hate that item)

and chaos is not an issue when you reach 75%.

Chaos damage in most cases is balanced around a 0% resistance ratio. with 800 "low-life" you have a pool that equates roughly 3500 with 75% chaos resistance.(no data on this, just perception and how i experience it)

I did jungle valley with 750 low-life no shavs for example. Not a single issue.

Though granted i would have to re-create a build for the 2.0 version of the game state since i have not touched low-life in the current game-state.

edit : i should rephrase that last bit. I have absolutely no desire to make a non-shavs low life build currently because there are no benefits to doing so currently.

Shavs single-handedly destroyed a solid mechanical trait of the game and rendered it useless.

At least in the old game state, the effort and investment(that is required, make no mistake) was rewarded by virtue of some crazy buffs.

I really would like a cheap-ass item for hybrid ES/life builds centered around chaos resist.
It's a pretty rare mod, so it's a pretty big feat hitting even as high as positive 40% chaos resist. Although that'd be total overkill outside of PVP, which is really the only place you find very high chaos dps.

Saffell's is ele resist - no effect to chaos res.

You can cap out elemental resistances at over 100% in game; that'll mitigate elemental damage completely for any enemy that doesn't have ele penetration (like Atziri).
