im 84 and have no probs also ci fp cold/fire/chaos

also archers dont do much dmg, only chargers do well with granite (%armor) i tank 6-7 hits with 5k es


I'm lvl82 4500es CI with zero armor and it is very hard to die.
Versus archers - use IS and place IS totem.
Versus chargers - place 2 skeletons(4k+ hp each without any summon passives) and let them tank, while using IS on them.
FP is a very strong spell, but Ice spear is even stronger. Just put some decoys in front of you and one-two shot everybody with nearly 100% crit chance. The only problem for me now is cold resist creeps and flicker strike bosses.

well i use gmp icespear totem for perm freeze trash and i use a single target icespear with fastcast + added light + increased crit damage

with my single target icespear i can perma freeze any bosses even in 6 player games :)

vs coldcrez i linked my freezing (20%) with increased crit damage + added chaos damage + cold to fire (lvl 1)+ lmp

single target icespear is the best vs all kin of flicker bosses just perm freeze them and with my setup it even adds shock stacks (most bosses are 4-5 hit solo play)

Minions and freeze is all good witch has.
Intellect increases ES and mana - useless if you go hp build.
If you start a marauder you will have 400 more base hp (*4 passives mult).
If you stack strength instead of int you get +50 hp and +20% damage per 100 str (FP is both spell and projectile, so double bonus from str?)
If you go hp build you can wear armor (7k armor and 5k hp? easy) and like 84% res.
Want to be be a summoner - make a summorauder.
Want to freeze - make a freezrauder.
Want to use bow - make a bowrauder.
Why play something else which gets mana/evasion instead of hp and damage?

I have 4.2k def (30% reduce) in quite bad gear (lv50-60) and can take some phys dmg, much better than 0 def.

Funny how many Marauders are QQing about how the game is biased against melees, how armor sucks(due to the horrific formula GGG uses), etc, and here in the Witch forums I see QQing about how Witches are useless when compared to Marauders. I'm afraid this is the classic "the grass is greener on the other side" syndrome.

So, in order to solve this syndrome, either learn how to play a Witch properly(as in don't try to tank with it and play like a Marauder, which is what you seem to be doing according to your descriptions) or create a Marauder for yourself to enjoy it's supposed "OPness" when compared to your "measly" Witch.
Smart use of conversion trap can mitigate even the most fragile of defenses. I don't think any witch can simply facetank mobs on even the lower level maps and as many have said before that just isnt the intended play style.

with 4000 ES you should not be dying in docks even to a mob of multiprojectile voidbearers unless youre lagging hard or are standing idle and relying on fp to perma freeze. A champion group of archers can kill you rather fast but try throwing a conversion trap, then a totem, then blast them with fp. or simply cast, run , cast run to dodge their slow reload arrow shots.

Idk about other, but me, no mater how much ES you have at docks, the blue/yellow voidbeares are a serious problem if you dont have any summon, they kill you faster than you can see.
with 3.5k ES without totem/skeleton i cant do docks, with them, i can even solo maps, but always running & spreading summons and casting. Dont try tank with a pure ES char or you will die easy
