Lightning Coil or Daresso's Defiance, to be or not to be...
Both in the process to gather fusings for linking... By the way, I'm self found player and this is not the result of the recent drop changes :P My character is an Incinerator with dual curse and PoH. One of my curses is Warlord's Mark and thanks to this I have 90% of the time 4 or 5 endurance charges up. My defense mechanisms include 2 CWDT lvl 20, one with Inmortal call and the other with Frost Wall + Discharge + Iron will (defense and attack at the same time)... I have been considering the pros and cons of these two armors and I don't know which one to use. Maybe you can give me a little help. Thank you :) Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

legacy coil > daressos hands down
5 ec from warlords + consistent 30% physical dmg reduction from coil is op |

Well, coil is strictly defensive chest armor, Im currently using it (nonlegacy version) on my 2h ice crash duelist.
I've tried changing it to daresso (when I finally linked it to use on my fb cycloner) to see how much of a difference there will be thanks to onslaught and having maxed endurance charges almost all the time. I can tell you one thing, when I was taking physical hits, even with 5/6/7 endurance charges up it was painfull, when I switched back to Coil I could facetank those hits. My vote goes for Lightning Coil if you can cap resist from jewelery or just mastercraft it without need of using purity of lightning. But hey, if you can get mitigation from somewhere else its always more DeePS from Daresso's. |

Btw, you REALLY REALLY should not use a lv20 cast when damage taken. That requires you to take some 3.3k damage for it to proc. I'm not sure if there are ANY builds out that that can effectively use this. I've seen some builds with 6k+ life pools use a lv10 cwdt or so for immortal call, that way they have a longer immortal call, and also so they don't blow through all their endurance charges.
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.

Easier to build around Daresso's.
Also... don't fuse until you 6s them |

one more for coil, my ultrasquishy 2h marauder* is doing fine up to 76 maps thanks to it. Non-legacy one, also obligatory Abyssus on.
I couldn't belive it at first tbh. *details in profile, char tab isn't hidden Burn all the orbs!

You can't beat the mitigation from the coil, but you also probably give up a damage aura or herald by having to run purity of lightning.

" What? As a melee, you take 3.3k damage every couple seconds. It just doesn't matter as you regen/leech it back in no time. If you want high impact skills on your cwdt (like long immortal call or a damage spell), lvl 20. Iy you want superhigh uptime: lvl 1. @op Coil is the way to go. It's just too good to be true if you can handle the -60% resist. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

" I heard this (somewhat sounding reasonable) opinion before, is it really such obligatory? I'd hate to drop my hatred. I'm asking as guy who have no shame in taking advantage of being SC player. Is it just smart decision that purity or literaly obligatory? Sorry I ask such probably basics but anything that don't shoot bow is new for me and big mistery. Burn all the orbs!
