The Passive Skill Tree Needs Color Coordination!

Lot to say, but the essence:

Great idea!
You spoke of a Filter. THAT is some Awesome idea.

This would/could work like this:
Filter Axe Skills per chexkbox would highlight all Axe related skills and the lines to them outgoing from chosen class.

Also add an extra colourcode checkbox next to it so i can choose a color for all the highlited lines. espeacially usefull when i check more than one checkbox which i want to chose from first.

System would be like this. A 2 Step System:
1. Step is choosing from a good ordered list my skills an the color i want to see for it.

2. Step or window is showing good old skilltree map as it is but colored and highlighted as i chose from Step 1

What do you think? That a try worth?

Ah and dont forget a place where i can see all Stats added together, like that skilltree from

The nose is the oilrig for the poor man! hmm, not really working in english this one :D
I concur 100%. It needs to be more readable, right now it is too confusing and scary.

GGG make it happen.
Completely agree. Gotta make it easy to understand/read. Takes 15 minutes to stare at the skill tree? Colors(or colorblind accessible alternatives) should help quite a bit.
I agree too. For human eyes, colors are distiguished easier than text or even drawings.

I suggest noticeable colors wherever possible, then simple, clear, sharp icons, and lastly text naming.
But half the fun is not knowing where you want to upgrade into and completely ruining your build.. oh wait.. that's just me, XP (.) For some reason I am a: "Battle-Necromancer Templar who is an HP/Tank." Sounds cool, but sorta makes things hard when your fighting bosses and there are no corpses around, thankfully that's where the HP tankiness comes into play.

On a semi related note: a great feature would be to be able to highlight your skill "road map" (the path/order that you intend to spend your skill points before you get them).

If this could be saved for later, when you get your skill points you don't have to spend 15 minutes to remap out which path you were trying to take (and possibly forget about a minor diversion that you wanted to take). Just follow your highlighted path and get back to killing!

I think a feature like this would save time and reduce frustration for players. It would be very friendly for casual/newer players and veterans alike.

+1, very useful.
Great idea, I just started a Marauder for the first time, and spent quite some time sorting out weapon specific paths and stuff like that :)

I'd like to take this idea one step further: Let me do it in my browser.
It's not that bad, I mean it can be done a bit better but it's still decent.

Adding a filter/organization would be pretty sexy though.
