alien vengeance, why has no one mentioned it yet?

replace swords with guns and probably the largest amount of enemies ever in a game, added with a diablo 2 style camera and view point, add in lots of guns some rpg levels and you got a great fun game

totally underrated if you ask me ;-)

and you can probably pick it up for the price of a beer nowadays

its a little different to what your asking, but i think its game everyone should of atleast played once lol

You can try Space Siege but that was a pretty boring game.

Still being developed, but it has my interest. Mainly due to the fact that it is being made by the guys who did Titan Quest, which I loved.

Grim Dawn does look amazing. I'm following that along with POE, much more closely than I'm following D3, I might add.

Last June I earned my bachelor's in Game and Simulation Programming. I have a group of about 10 people working with me to develop a commercial game similar to the one described by the OP.

It uses the Titan Quest engine. It's a big plus for an idie company. No engine trouble since the beginning.

Actually it would be nice to hear how GGG come up with PoE engine. There's no wonder it took so much time.
