do not use procurement or you will get hacked

My account got hacked as i write this my stash and characters have already been cleaned out...only way this could happen is because i started using procurement a few days ago I am pretty sure that I cant do anything about this because it already happened but i write this as a warning to people do not use your account info to log in to procurement or you will be hacked.Now Im off to find another game to play. Good Luck.

Thousands of people would have posted this if it were true. Procurement is perfectly safe. If you got hacked you probabaly have your email compromised since your account gets locked the second somebody tries to log in from another IP address and the unlock code is sent to your email address.

like mark pointed out, if it was procurement then there would be a damn site more than a handful of "got hacked" threads.

That's the thing, they have access to your email account as well, all they would need to do is try to log in to the game, get the email and enter the code, delete the email and empty the account...some people find the read email in their in box, some have it sitting in their trash and others have had it removed entirely.

What ever site it is that you all visited together it's likely got a keylogger onto your system

Ok let's assume they had access to my emailaccount (this is checked now by my email provider) and deleted the messages with the unlock key...then there is still something that was not ok with this reasoning:

When i yesterday changed my pasword of POE after the hack and logged in, the unlock key system did his work as i received the email with the code in it, but the thing is that it always mentions the last place you logged in from.

Your Path of Exile account has been locked because someone attempted to log in from a location that you don't typically play from - "*****, ******, Belgium"


This was still the last place that i logged on to (i have 2 places from where i access the game)


Anyway, i will let you know if my email provider has done the check.

I hope you find out how it happened. This is 3rd person lately I have heard of getting hacked, not sure how it is happening.

But in a more serious note, it's possible Procurement could have some vulnerabilities that are being exploited.

It's also more likely people are compromising their accounts by unintentionally downloading keyloggers and trojans. It's also possible that the Procurement they downloaded came from a website which added 'freebies' in.

If the reports keep coming in (>30) over a short period of time perhaps it would be time to ask the Procurement maker to check for vulnerabilities. Or fakes.

After the first hack

- i changed email pasword
- i changed poe pasword
- i installed a froward email script so that all keys for game are forwarded to another emailadres


Yesterday i played without a problem, the only thing i did is use auctioneer again, so this is not a coincidence any more

my i have installed some rip off auctioneer program, but the leak is definitly coming from there

And i did not receive any email on login in from a different location or so

Use different Passwords for every e- mail account and game!

This PW should at least have 10 signs. Big letters, small ones, Numbers in a non Logical Arrangement.

And yes, never use 3rd Party programs. Nobody knows who's writtem them. Maybe a RMT site uses Procurement to gain Passwords, etc to rip ppl off. Nobody knows.
