Technical Support - Error: Failed writing received data to disk... - Forum

Didn't have any problems downloading patches until today. When I try to download today's patch it stops at 0B of 7.83MB and says Error: Failed writing received data to disk/application while downloading http://patch124.pathofexile.com:8095/patch/0. 10. 1.2/Client.exe". I was having the same problem too. Figured it out tonight though from researching other posts. First off you want to make sure your fire wall is not blocking the game, after you are sure that is not the problem this is what you do: Open your internet browser and enter the link displayed in the crash window which was this for me - patch216.pathofexile.com:8095/patch/0.10.1.3/CrashUpload.exe Download that and save it and then copy/paste it into the game directory. Once that is done you might still get a game crash when the game says "connecting" If this is the case go into the games directory and delete the client.exe file and then rename the file client.tmp to client.exe This should fix the problem. Also if you are on windows seven and cant get to the games directory just right click on the game shortcut go to properties and click "open file location." Hope this helps. KUDOS TO YOU DAEMONSYN!!!! I've been beating my computer with a hammer for damn near an hour trying to get this to work!! Finally came across your post and gave this method a shot. Copied over the said file that was giving me problems and voila the install completed. Never would've thought about directing the link like that and downloading it straight, GENIUS!! Hey people that might help you. Im playing poe on my external hard drive and i get this message everytime i want to patch. What i do to make it work. 1: Reboot pc then try. 2: Deconnect and reconnect offpower your HD 3: Deconnect and reconnect on another device ( me its was on my laptop. a macbook air) I can now play Path. Why do you think you need to download the "crsh" to get it to work?
