For example, many players seem to be operating under the illusion/fantasy that increased drop rates of items, orbs, and maps would open up the game and make it more rewarding. However, this is actually opposite of the truth because rewards are relative to scarcity. Less scarcity equals decreased value equals less rewarding.
Honesty, I'd have to disagree. If the game as it is was rewarding enough, the few dozen friends I had that played PoE would still play, instead of 100% of them quitting for essentially all the same reasons. The reality of the situation is that if GGG made the game more 'accessible' (i.e. not as punishing and unrewarding as it currently is), then the amount of people playing PoE would like increase many times over its current amount, even accounting for the loss of the hardcore crowd that would quit if the game would be made easier.
It is and always will be for a smaller crowd. When I meet new people who game and ask them if they play Path of Exile, I seem to get the same response every time - "haven't heard of it." The game is not even remotely rewarding enough to be considered enjoyable for most gamers, but it's fine for you hardcore types, and ultimately that's all that matters since that seems to be the only group GGG wants to balance the game for. It's their game so obviously they can do with it as they please (even if that means going out of their way to make the game far less enjoyable than it could be, but that's just my opinion).

I would bet that even though sometimes it doesn't feel like it GGG agrees with vicariously. They are slowly making a lot of things more accessible, strong boxes, masters, gem vendors, reward opportunities are easier to come by than they once were.

First, the fact still remains that increasing drops doesn't make the game more rewarding. Think about water. Water is necessary for living. One absolutely must have it or they will die thus everyone needs it. Yet, it is relatively cheap. Why? Because it is abundant. Think about gold. Gold is useful in many ways and it's shiny. You don't necessarily need it. Yet, it is relatively expensive. Why? Because it is scarce. Making gold abundant like water won't make you feel rich when you are able to then get lots of it because it won't be worth anything anymore. This is the principle you don't understand. The game won't be more rewarding simply because you have access to things that were once scarce. You'll simply shortcut progression to the remaining scare items, which is mostly going to be perfecta gear. That should sound awfully familiar to most people here.
Second, just because some people struggle to find PoE rewarding doesn't mean that it isn't. Part of good game design is understanding what the "core" player base is. Bad games tend to chase after broad demographics for a one time cash grab. PoE having a F2P model needs a persistent community not a one time massive influx of players they will never retain. Easy games that guide everyone to completion don't have longevity.

I demand that GGG is investing all its income now into producing
high quality pre rendered cinematics ...
Blizzard just made the perfect PoE: Awakening Teaser ...
only the theme is wrong
watch
its strange, I really dont like Blizzard games except HS,
but look at that site as well, they are clearly
on top of their game

I demand GGG only spend whatever money you personally gave them on cinematics
