Chaos Innoc explanation plz!?

I had just switched to CI. My life was 1 point and CI 1200. I zone in and get killed first mob to hit me. My Energy Shield fully in tact. What possibly could have killed me. Cant be Chaos damage. Is there anything that would bypass my Energy Shield?

Most likely you drank a "Caustic" mana flask.

As far as I know, Puncture moving-dmg penetrates ES too. So 1 step and you're dead.

I dunno. You had a Blood Magic support gem equipped?

The only thing that can "bypass" the shield (afaik) is if you link a bloodmagic support gem to a 40% aura (like purity).

40%*250% = 100% of life reserved -> insta death without touching the shield.

It is physical damage, and physical damage does not bypass eshield.

Caustic flasks and spending your own HP on skills are the only ways I know of to hurt yourself under eshield with CI.

Yes I have, I just mentioned it in another thread eerily. Couldnt remember its name though. And CI was OP, it made you near unkillable if you played half smart.
