how much health points do I need against malachai merciless

I mean not being one shotted by those black spheres he throws at you, or the red ones. The thing is, I have no idea how much hp one should have to avoid being one shotted by his normal attacks on merciless. When I fought him on normal, my life was constantly going to half, because either those red spheres hit me or the black ones. I'm sure there's an average hp every player should have by merciless. I don't want to over invest in offense or defense, I want to balance both.

Anyway, from looking at this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArsB7KohOhhpdHoyZzU2WVZZNXQxMDg4MVk1b0FGbkE#gid=3 it seems one can get about 800 hp from gear, and from looking at this https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1336177 it sounds like 6.3k hp is still not enough. I guess only 180% hp is not enough then? I would get only about 6k life at level 100.

I dont get it why would you want to fight him on merc. Its the same play until solaris and start mapping. Yes u could have won the laptop but thats over. I have an 8k es CI char means his groundeffects shouldnt hurt me because of the chaos immunity. When/should i lvl up I will gladly let myself get hit to post u the hp number, if I still got 1 shotted on a 68 Zone at 88 my advice is DONT ;)

For merciless malachai you need 15k-25k hp, it is in case you're hit by his one shot attack.
