This is the official thread for my "Crit Tornado Shot Raider" build. In this thread I will cover the requirements of the build. To get a more detailed explanation on how the build works and needs to be set up, check out the link to my video guide above.



First of all, what is this build and who is it suited for?

1. This build is designed for both new players and veterans alike. The build has the potential to run the highest level maps, and with great clear speed!

2. Someone who seeks a build that is fairly budget friendly - no unique items are required in order to make it work. That said there is a few very powerful ones I will recommend in this guide.

3. Fans of archers and bow builds!

4. A build that is both viable for hardcore as well as softcore.

5. People who prefer a build that has a video-guide linked to it.

Skill-gems and setups:

Primary Damage setup:

- Tornado Shot, Greater Multiple Projectiles, Pierce, Weapon Elemental Damage, Increased Critical Strikes (5-link), Physical Projectile Attack Damage (6-link).

Note: I highly recommend using the Doomfletch's Prism bow!

Single target Damage setup:

- Blast Rain, Faster Attacks, Physical Projectile Attack Damage, Weapon Elemental Damage, Concentrated Effect (5-link), Increased Critical Strikes (6-link)

Curse & Power Charge setup:

- Split Arrow, Chain, Curse-On-Hit, Assassin’s Mark.

Defensive Setup:

- Cast When Damage Taken (lvl 1) linked with Immortal Call (lvl 1), Ice Golem (lvl 3) and Increased Duration (max level).

Utility Setup:

- Hatred, Herald of Ash, Vaal Haste & Increased Duration

NOTE: Consider using Blink Arrow for more mobility instead of Increased Duration.

Skill-trees & Ascendancy class:

Ascendancy Class: The Raider (Ascendancy points is shown in the skill-trees)

Ascendancy Points: Way of the Poacher, Rapid Assault, Avatar of the Chase, Avatar of the Slaughter

Note: Way of the Poacher is what allows you to generate Frenzy charges!

Leveling skill-tree, 41 points:

Bandit Quest Rewards:

- Normal : Help Oak for 40+ life
- Cruel : Kill them all for +1 skill point
- Merciless: Help Kraityn for +1 to maximum Frenzy Charge

Gearing and stat priorities:

Defensive affixes, in priority:

1. Life
2. Elemental Resistances (75% capped in Merciless)
3. Evasion
4. Strength/Intelligence
5. Chaos Resistance

For offense:

1. Flat Physical Damage (this is very important if using Doomfletch's Prism)
2. Critical Strike Chance%
3. Critical Strike Multiplier %
4. Attack Speed%

My Current Gear (ignore the socketed gems)


Jewels:

- Inc. Crititical Strike Multiplier%
- Inc. Critical Chance%
- Inc. Physical Damage%

Flasks:

- 2x Seething Divine Life Flasks of Staunching
- 1x Surgeon's Basalt Flask of Warding
- 1x Surgeon's Jade Flask of Reflexes
- 1x Surgeon's Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline

Recommended unique items:

Weapon: Doomfletch's Prism


Quiver: Drillneck


Chest: Kintsugi (Note: I now recomend this over the Lightning Coil!)


Helmet: Rat's Nest


Gloves: Maligaro's Virtuosity

Some quick questions bro!

Why dont u pick phase acro?Phase acro + atziris step = 45% chance to dodge spells!Big big boost in my view!

I got a drillneck and a pierce gem20/20!Shall i use the pierce cluster or go for a top tier rare crit quiver and a non pierce tornado setup?

Rats nest is a must as u said!Greatly boosts your ranger gameplay!

Then i got a problem Rats nest + atziris step + maligaros makes too difficult to cap resistances let alone chaos res!

So which one shall i drop atziris step or maligaros?

Great guide as always bro!I tested my ranger yesterday and i have to say tornado shot mechanics felt a bit weaker than before but im still sure i will continue this approach for my ranger so thank you for your time mate!

Awesome been waiting for a good HC ranger guide. Could you however fix the skill tree links? I know they are in the video but i want to compare some skill tree's and its really hard for me using just the video.

None of the passive trees work. While I enjoy your videos, having them linked here would be nice for quick reference.
