Critical strike is just a damage boost now
Maybe it is this way they want it, i have never read so much about it, i just enjoy playing it.
And i think crits should be something u look forward to getting when u fight and struggle, not something u know will appear every 2.-3. hits. The same goes for the burn/freeze/shock u get on the enemy. It should be bonuses u hopefully get when u need it, not something that is on permanently like it is when u get high crit chance. So i wanted to bring it up, but i guess it wont change |

With the changes to status ailments, people might (except CoCers) invest in multi more than in chance. Before, have 1-4 cold damage, 1-4 lightning damage, land a crit and you'd have a shock-frozen enemy. Now, while still true, the shock and freeze duration will be so short that you probably won't notice it.
With a high multiplier, however, you might land crits less frequently, but when you do, you see some results (although 1-4 elemental damage won't do much even with 500% multi or more, at least not endgame). Personally, I also like less chance and more multi. Bird lover of Wraeclast

I haven't rebuilt my standard characters that rely on crit yet but it looks much harder to get a proficient crit build than before 2.0, because of the necessary "passive" sinks: leech, jewels, traveling costs.
I'd say I see no reason to bash on crit anymore. The additional cost is here and real. Ranger builds list: /917964
When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch. Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart... |
