Bleeding + Bloodlust

Bloodlust gem states "Cannot cause Bleeding". I take it this means that I cannot have a gem in the same link that causes Bleeding. For example, you couldn't link Puncture to Bloodlust and obtain the Bloodlust benefit.

Here's my question: can you cause Bleeding some other way while using Bloodlust? For example, suppose my weapon has Tora's "Causes Bleeding on Hit" mod. Will that invoke the Bloodlust benefit?

Supports add their modifiers to linked Skills. If you link Bloodlust to any random Skill, then said Skill cannot cause Bleeding, in any shape or form. You will have to use a different Skill to Bleed.
maybe it could be good to have a bleeding 4link curse on hit setup for ranged:
puncture + lmp/gmp + curse on hit + curse

then you attack with your skill with bloodlust linked.

It's also good for single-target vs AOE links.

e.g. Cyclone without Bloodlust, then some combination of single-target links with bloodlust for extra damage.

I was planning on doing something like this, but its hard to cause bleeding as a melee character :(
The "causes bleeding" mod for items is unfortunately a prefix so it would cost you a lot of damage to go that route, and the tree only offers you a small % chance to cause bleeding in certain clusters. My hope is that "causes bleeding" will get changed to a suffix, which would make it a useful option on non-crit weapons that really only need attack speed as a suffix.
Edit: It could even be something like 50% or 25% probability of causing bleeding if it would be too op at 100% chance. Investing in attack speed would make it fairly reliable even if the probability was as low as 15 or 20% I would guess.

Hi All,

I have a question.

What happen, if I use a weapon, that Causes Bleeding on Hit
And this support gem (Bloodlust) ?

The support say: "Cannot cause Bleeding", and the weapon say the opposit.

What purpose would "Cannot cause Bleed" serve if it does not actually prevent said Bleeding. This should be really easy to answer for yourself.
OK,
you mean:
in the match "Cause bleeding on hit", versus "Cannot cause Bleeding"

The winner is: no bleeding
Exactly.

The bloodlust gem only works like this:

Step 1: use another* skill for bleed.
Step 2: profit with bloodlust in main attack.

*Reliable: Leap Slam or Counterattack with Atziri Disfavor or another Bleed Weapon, Puncture for other weapons.
Unreliable: Bleed passives with bleed chance.

That's why I don't get this gem.
There's so many ways to fill a 6L with pure damage, isn't it useless and time consuming to apply bleeds before attacking?

got a similar question...
lets just say i use

Punture+malee splash to "proc" bleed

max block char

vengeance + bloodlust + malee phys dmg + added fire dmg
riposte + bloodlust + malee phys dmg + added fire dmg
reckoning + bloodlust + malee phys dmg + added fire dmg

so basicly this would mean whenever you block you would benefit from it right?
even if you are using a sword/passic with chance to cause bleed right?
so basicly the my question is if i choose the passic x% chance to cause bleeding on hit it wont be triggered by the 3 counter skills right? ^^
