RIP Scion Dialogue
" I've never played as the scion but if this made the cut the old stuff must've been pretty bad. I mean, POE has really, really good dialogue so maybe they felt it just wasn't up to the standard. General Gravicius' line to the shadow is still one of my favorites in ANY game: "You're not the only one who wields death as a weapon, boy!" You just knew you were gonna get REKT after hearing that. "Dude he fucking said hotdog racist.
Like I can't even make this shit up." - gj 1.0.0 Forum Posters now have 50% less Critical Thinking skill per Patch |

And that's how you die properly, sailor boy: no half measures, thank you.

Poor Scion...I always liked what she said after beating Brutus.

I liked and enjoyed Scion's lines before Awakening. Was hoping they would bring other classes to that lvl. But they did opposite. Shame, rly... :(

All the angsty kids in this thread. Scions dialogue was melodramatic nonsense and quickly became a bore.
" Yeah ok. Wouldn't call his two story prison an "empire" but whatever gets you off Scion. |

indeed restore the scion dialogue

In first I play Awakening by Witch, but I always looked forward with anticipation for what history will tell Scion, imagined new wave immersion…
And what do I see? Total disappointment(( Even more!It was destroyed not only my expectations, but the nature of the whole character as a whole. |

" That and she comes of as pretentious. Sure, she has problems, but she certainly haven't spent hundreds of years living a tormented existence. Why does she think she can understand? She does something similar with Tolman, she compares her problems to his. He couldn't fight back and could just watch while Piety did experiments on him while the scion is a one person army. There's also the fact that she claims her life at Oriat would have been great had she thought different. In the same opening monolog she also claims that her parents viewed the fact that she was a prodigy as something to be taken advantage of instead of supporting and later on she calls her ex husband mean things. I don't think any girl would have enjoyed a life with a cruel husband and parents who see her as an object to be exploited, rich or not. Melodramatic and pretentious. GGG changed her monologue for a good reason, but I'm not sure the new one is any good. |

" Who lived hundreds of years living a tormented existence? Its certainly not Brutus, since he chose that path. " Why would Tolman have it harder than her? Are you trying to say being trapped in the Sceptre of God where even Dominus and Piety wouldn't enter is far better than Tolman's experience? I haven't seen what her new dialogue is, but what her old dialogue added was lore to stuff in Wraeclast. You know a bit more about the lore from many of her comments. Of course, some of her comments are unnecessary. |

I liked how her dialogue started off as slightly eccentric, and as you progress to subsequent acts, her reactions get weirder and weirder. You can practically taste her slowly going insane by what Wraeclast throws at her.
I was also really looking forward to what the writers would do with her in act4, but all I got is disappointment. What happened to Scion, and who is this body double of hers we now have? The more you depend on forces outside yourself, the more you are dominated by them. --Harold Sherman Last edited by mruuh#6761 on Jul 13, 2015, 5:20:14 AM
