Windows Event Viewer - Log Entry Help
|
I wonder if anyone can suggest where I can find out what these two log entries represents? These log entries are repeatedly coinciding precisely with a game (not PoE) freezing. I'm no Win 8 expert, so I've no idea how to track down the underlying link between my game freezes and these log entries. Any help appreciated.
Here's the logs: - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing [ Guid] {54849625-5478-4994-A5BA-3E3B0328C30D} EventID 4672 Version 0 Level 0 Task 12548 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x8020000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2015-06-19T06:01:45.812199900Z EventRecordID 108501 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 696 [ ThreadID] 924 Channel Security Computer AORUS_X3 Security - EventData SubjectUserSid S-1-5-18 SubjectUserName SYSTEM SubjectDomainName NT AUTHORITY SubjectLogonId 0x3e7 PrivilegeList SeAssignPrimaryTokenPrivilege SeTcbPrivilege SeSecurityPrivilege SeTakeOwnershipPrivilege SeLoadDriverPrivilege SeBackupPrivilege SeRestorePrivilege SeDebugPrivilege SeAuditPrivilege SeSystemEnvironmentPrivilege SeImpersonatePrivilege ___________________________ And the second one here: ___________________________ - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing [ Guid] {54849625-5478-4994-A5BA-3E3B0328C30D} EventID 4624 Version 1 Level 0 Task 12544 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x8020000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2015-06-19T06:01:45.812199900Z EventRecordID 108500 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 696 [ ThreadID] 924 Channel Security Computer AORUS_X3 Security - EventData SubjectUserSid S-1-5-18 SubjectUserName AORUS_X3$ SubjectDomainName WORKGROUP SubjectLogonId 0x3e7 TargetUserSid S-1-5-18 TargetUserName SYSTEM TargetDomainName NT AUTHORITY TargetLogonId 0x3e7 LogonType 5 LogonProcessName Advapi AuthenticationPackageName Negotiate WorkstationName LogonGuid {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} TransmittedServices - LmPackageName - KeyLength 0 ProcessId 0x2b0 ProcessName C:\Windows\System32\services.exe IpAddress - IpPort - ImpersonationLevel %%1833 |

They doesn't seem like errors to me.
Are they Informations, Warning or Errors? What is the icon next to them? |

Thanks for the reply Xenocidius. They are security "Audit Success" events in the Security Log, it's a little key icon next to the events. The closest comparable issue I can find on the web is here:

This part of Eventvwr is only about login access to your system and file. Doesn't really help to diagnose a trouble with a game.
You should look into the "Applications (or Software?)" and "System" sections for any clues. And put a filter to only show Warning and Errors (The Yellow and Red icons). |

Thanks, I tried that but there are no events (errors or otherwise) in system or applications anywhere around the time of the freeze. It's only the security log that has an event at the same time as the freeze. Hmmm...?!

Then it's not an error that use the Windows Event System to log what happenend.
Maybe the game itself have a log file in one of is folders. It can be a Hardware problem too, most of the time this kind of error won't log errors because the system freeze before being able to log it. |

I'm trying one of the tips about turning Windows Error Reporting on at startup. Let's see if that makes a difference, otherwise I'm bereft of ideas.

What is the symptoms of the freeze? Video freeze? Does the mouse still moves? Does the PC Crash with a bluescreen?

The game freezes, but I can still alt-tab to other programmes and they work fine. Then after about 5 seconds I can press escape and a windows error box comes up, and if i click twice on the "wait for programme to respond", then the game comes back working.

That's some weird thing. If everything else works and you can alt-tab then it's not Windows and probably not your hardware, mostly a compatibility problem and/or how the game is made. You should seek help in the game's own forum maybe some people have the same issue...
