An illustration project

Ah, a fan of the Tesla? Electric motor = instantaneous torque. The Tesla is an awesome representation of electric motor performance. But, where we are now, electric cars are kindof stupid, batteries weight too much. In fact, I am working on an invention to improve gasoline mileage which if successful would be better than electric and diesel. Although, hydrogen is where its at.

Congrats Chris & others for cashing out! I don't blame you. I'll be saving money now... unless I start making a lot more. Can't wait to see if you guys start a new studio in six years! RIP GGG

That's interesting. You're right about the weight of batteries right now, but there are several advancements in-the-making that should revolutionize the solar power industry. Now, these advancements are for grounded batteries (alternative grid backup suppliers), but they will surely transfer over into the portable battery industry quickly.

The current Model S, if I'm not mistaken, gets about 250 mpge on average. Since gasoline's energy efficiency is only 40% (only 40% of the energy is utilized when gasoline is burned), there would have to be a gigantic breakthrough in technology for gasoline to remain the go-to energy source. At this rate, however, solar power is quickly becoming more competitive and will overtake most other sources within the next 20 years. (Not to mention that charging your Tesla vehicles is free for life at Tesla charging stations)

I'd love to learn more about how you're going about your project, though. I spend a lot of my time reading scientific articles about alternative energy.
Here's a custom board graphic going on a customer's board:

"100 Custom Kerouac Board Graphic"

Thanks, I'll be sure to share how the board turns out with the vinyl graphic.

Tonight's is a rather terrible one-line of a toaster:

"102 Toaster"

I'll be getting back on track with more complicated illustrations, but for now, here's a minimal telephone:

"103 Phone"

Keep em commin. Check your PMs too

EDIT: Quite interested in how you make your carbon fiber board. Have you ever worked with composites before? If you are truly making a full on carbon fiber board it will take many 'custom' made tools. You may want to start with just fiberglass first (because the aesthetics wont matter so much).

I have a good amount of experience laminating composites like fiberglass, decorative cotton cloth, bamboo fabric, Formica, and decorative veneers. Carbon fiber and Kevlar are the only essential composites for skateboards that I haven't worked with yet (and I just stocked up on both).
Pretty damn excited about finally being able to utilize CF in my designs. I was going to do my first layup today but decided to hold off until tomorrow when it is warmer out. I have a bunch of standard weave CF instead of twill, but it should still look amazing when I'm done clear coating and buffing over it.

Tonight's illustration is of a plant I constantly find myself intrigued with:

"104 Venus Flytrap"

Just watched Life of Pi, can you tell?

"105 Life Saved"
