"Fast weapons" has nothing to do with this, stop trying to bring it up. Attack speed is nearly meaningless with regards to the 1h vs 2h disparity i'm talking about. Nor does this really have to do with local affixes and the crafting of the weapons themselves, that's at least partially accounted for. This is about global damage. It is simply a matter of global flat damage being a substantially better dps amplifier for 1handers than 2handers, due to the substantial differences in base dps between the two.



While I'm not a fan of faster weapons benefiting more from global flat damage (faster weapons already have a ton going for them besides flat damage favoritism, meanwhile slower weapons have extremely few niche advantages), that's not what this thread is about. This is just a matter of 1h vs 2h.

I brought up ambusher and reaver sword because they have neat numbers, equal and two thirds, I wasn't comparing ambusher to other daggers or reaver to other 2H swords.

The problem is twofold, onehanders scale better on weapon level because flat roll to base damage ratio is higher and they scale better globally because flat physical from other sources to final weapon damage ratio is higher. I'd fix the former but leave the latter alone.

It is, I'd personally go for reducing flat damage rolls on 1H weapons. Well, there's one more thing I'd like to do but GGG would never go there, not in a million.

2h dps is 'fine' if you go physical or conversion/added damage based on physical. It's notably less than fine if you try to go with an elemental build.
