i love new arctic armour as long as...

That duration doesnt mean that as soon as you activate it, it reserves 25% of your mana for 6 or so seconds...

Why i love it:
It buffs builds that stand still in order to attack/cast while not providing benefits for already strong builds (cyclone).
The new AA brings stationary attack builds on par with cyclone.
Also it gives more variety for defense options for attack builds
since the previous AA was almost exclusive to casters 'cause only they could get absurd amounts for mana regen.

Why i will hate it:
That duration in its description troubles me.

No need, it's the ground ice duration, the buff is permanent and now even reactivates on zone change.

Well, i guess i simply love the new AA.

I'm pretty sure that as always, the duration on it still just refers to the ground ice it causes and not to the skill itself only being active for that long. From what I've heard, AA even stays active while zoning now which would be a huge improvement as far as that goes.
where is this new AA post?

It's been absolutely destroyed as a caster themed defense.

Looks like the classic D2 ice armor, better than the insane mana draining old AA.

I'd rather take the mana drain and not be stunlocked by swarms of small hits as an ES character.

This change will kill this gem. At least for mana users. It will be much better for melee chars than casters now...

Exactly.

As i said: it offers more options that are opened to every class/build and not only for casters (which is a good thing).

Well, with 3 endurance charges, AA, and lets say 1000 armor you wont be stunlocked by any small hits while at the same time you will negate damage from large physical hits.

Percentage based negation is always best for late game.
New AA is awesome guys, jump the hype train while there is still time.
Also, nice synergy for the new cold support gem "hypothermia" since AA applies chill when you get hit

Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

But why wouldnt it be great for both of them? Most (if not all of them) spells require that you stand still while casting. It will work great for spells like Lightning Tendrills/flameblast/incinerate etc while casters who are kiting wont care since they retain their range advantage.

You have to see the bigger picture. New AA is more balanced and more accessible to any build.
Actually i find it the perfectly balanced remake i have seen in poe (since the way they remake AA, it wont work for already powerfull builds and will give a buff to spells/attacks who are standing still in order to attack/cast).
