Gamescom 2015
" actually it's a german internal rippoff, the original games exibition (games convention) has been in leipzig from 2002 till 2008 until cologne bought it off (just google "kölner klüngel"). nobody knows what the "com" in gamescom really means: they couldn't take "games convention" caue that title still belonged to leipzig so they probably just used something which supposedly sounded fancy. never been to gamescom myself although i visited the games convention several times before. it's not easy for me to get there and cologne is both: ugly and horrible expensive (for companies and visitors). additionally, path of exile has no "parental guidance rating" in germany from the usk, they would still have to get it tested and it surely would get a "18 years and above", not because of the naked statues but because of the blood and gore (we germans are paranoid about anything what really harms our children ;-) everything natural is allowed). age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Wait... harming children isn't natural?

We Germans aren't paranoid, we're fuckin' stupid regarding gore etc.
I mean, it's not like i enjoy gore particulary, but forbidding it for the reason "it will do harm!" is absolutely retarded. People who want that stuff will get it, i mean, it's not even hard, even for children. |

I think GGG is secretly started to work on "path of exile 2" already. Or some other MMOARPG... it's to raw for GAMESCOM 2015.

" You obviously don't have children. The prohibition of gore for people under a certain age is not just to protect them (as you said, they can get it on other ways). It is also implemented to punish those who make it accessible to children. If there is no law, there is no punishment. A law against demolishing my car does not stop you from doing so, right? But if you do, and you get caught, you will be punished. That's all. Prohibition shall prevent stuff. But it also shall enable the victim to have his or her justice. Quite simple. In Germany and elsewhere. Only the term of justice depends. And of course do children get harmed when they watch some of the bloody mess that is going out there ;) The Sirus fight is a disgrace.

" to elaborate on that, actually those who are punished to play censored german versions are grown ups who have no better idea to buy them at their local games store. i don't know many german kids who play censored versions of games. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Either you have no clue about how we handle things here in Germany regarding gore, violence and such things, or you're saying that Germans are (as human beings) "better" in any way than people from countries such as Austria, Sweden etc. that have a less strict policy regarding those issues. Either way, what you're saying is plain wrong, mate. |

Err you realize there are restricted games which mustn't be advertised but are still allowed to be sold and banned games where posessesion is legal but selling is illegal.
If you are an adult you dwon't care about that anyway. The few banned games in Germany are mostly banned in other coutries too. The publishers decide to censor their games so it receives a 16 or 18 rating. They are censoring games because an advertisement restriction is poison for sales. They know the target audience of CoD are 12-14 year olds. They censored games like Twisted Metal for Europe because of the UK. They censored drugnames in Fallout because of NZ and Australia. Don't blame a country if the decision to censor a game is solely the publishers fault. Banned games here are only: Condemned 1&2, Dead Rising 1&2(most likely 3 soon), L4D 2, Manhunt 1&2,Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 & 2011(the new one is only restricted so far but will most likely be banned), Silent Hill Homecoming(the irony is that the censored version is censored in only 2 cutscenes/QTE only) and Soldier of Fortune Payback. There are several other games here that are waiting for a decision if the game should be banned or not but some cases are so old that everybody forgot about the game anyway. There are a few games banned for Nazi symbols such as Wolfenstein series, Commandos and Mortyr. |

" they adapt because they desperately want the markets in the respective countries. bigger companies don't have other ethics or morale beside those of their shareholders. which is mainly return of investment. fun fact: i once bought the austrian version of call of duty - modern warfare 4 but steam wouldn't let me install it. after some investigation i found a piece of paper in the game's box which contained the information on how to setup a proxy to play it anyway. that was the point where i uninstalled steam. and i never played mw4. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" I am german. And you obviously didn't understand one word i wrote. The Sirus fight is a disgrace.
