[Advice] When to start trading ?
" are you replying to me? i focus on both gems and gear. i have tried playing without resists but it's much easier with capped resists. only a personal opinion of course :) how do you do it with a fresh charachter in a fresh league? |

Trading is two ways. When should you start trying to sell stuff and when should you buy stuff. Selling stuff on standard is almost hopeless until you are mapping. On the other hand buying stuff on standard is dirt cheap for the low to mind range, only the godly good gear is expensive and it can be insanely expensive. On leagues it is really a more even market. Low to mind range stuff is more valuable so it is better to sell but more expensive to buy and the prices, if graphed, are more of a straight line with price on one axis and item goodness on the second axis.

" Buy gems and wing the rest. Cap through self-found if possible or through rings. You can swap pieces around for particular zones (e.g. fire for docks). But generally, I'm confident enough in my flasking that I can "wing it" until early-middle Merciless. Buy a cheap 5L when possible for power spike. Sad thing is most items are WAY overpriced. Standard rare drops seem to be offered for chaos or even exalts. I would never pay that much for items that I regularly just vendor. I don't know if many of them sell either...I suspect there are people with a dozen tabs or so of standard rares and maybe they sell one overpriced item every few weeks. Either that or there is, as they say, a fool born every minute and maybe some people buy the standard way overpriced rares you see on poe.trade.
The overpricing, the WTS messages filling up the party board, all are indications of a troubled economy. |
