Thanks to the graphical update in Act 4, my Diablo 3 friends are switching over to POE
Wilson was fired from D3. Don't be gullible and let Blizzard make you think he stepped down on his own bla bla bla.
they just didn't want to get too much attention on the matter Look how Awesome my MTX Marauder RF looks

" Well that's exactly what is wrong with SC2 - it IS just SC with better graphics. And some minor tweaks nobody gives a real crap about. I mean, Blizz was never truly "innovative", but they took good ideas other guys had and refined them up to a point where they are appealing to the masses. Sure, they had their own fair share of ideas, but overall it was just improving what was already out there. Still, they moved forward and didn't just stand still. Despite what one might think of D3, it WAS a new take on what Diablo2 defined as ARPG. So was Diablo2 itself back then, so was Wc3, even WoW and Hearthstone. But SC2? Same old stuff. Blunt and boring. And lemme tell ya, i loved SC back then. But Sc2 was a huge step back, mainly because it wasn't a step forward but stuck to the same formula of it's predecessor. Beside that, i still believe there'd be a huge potential for Warcraft 4 - if they'd do it right, which i wholeheartly think they wouldn't ;) |

how could people say there is no improvement in Act 4?
Its easy to see even the art direction has changed a bit, this game has come a long way since Act 1. Look how Awesome my MTX Marauder RF looks

I would hardly call 2 days a necro. It was a weekend. Maybe the OP was away for the weekend, and only today had a chance to check it.
The art and such throughout PoE has been evolving and improving over the lifespan of the game. This includes Act 1. All acts are running on the same engine under the same art direction. Sure the themes of each act are quite different, but just because they are different doesn't mean that any one of the acts is better than the others. Act 1 does a fine job of depicting the outskirts along the coast being a desolate and horrible place. Act 2 is clearly meant to be an ancient overgrown forested area. Act 3 is successful at depicting a battle torn dilapidated city. Clearly the OP likes act 4, but that really comes down to personal preference doesn't it? Is it demonstrably better? Or is it just that you like it better? "I would have listened... I would have understood!" - Scion

" So many memories. Diablo 2, gothic, max payne and neverwinter nights. I think i need a tissue. I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready. Last edited by Pyrokar#6587 on May 12, 2015, 9:55:05 AM

This thread has been very interesting.
What I'm still curious about are the specs of those claiming to get very poor FPS. Over the years I've played PoE I have had multiple builds. Some of which were VERY cheap mid-range gaming rigs. Yet despite that I still never had any problems maintaining 60fps at those times (which was fine since I still has a 60hz back then). Now-a-days I can nail 200-250fps steady if left uncapped with it only really dipping down during some more extreme moments. Yet still not below that good ol' 120 mark. This is running a R9 290 reference with a i5-3570k, an old HDD or four, and some other misc components I slapped together. At one point I was even using a Clevo d901c for gaming. Still had very few issues so long as I kept myself aware of that systems limitations. My thoughts are that these people may be running the game with hardware that is not designed to run intensive videogames. That or the computer is not in a state to be playing a game (malware, poor cooling causing throttling, etc). https://www.pathofexile.com/shop - Support Path of Exile!

" Of course you can never be sure if some have hardware that is totally out of date, full of malware or whatever. But many have decent to good hardware and still this game makes their machines roar like they are playing farcry4 in ultra. Even if the machines don't even roar when playing farcry4 ;) The Sirus fight is a disgrace.
