This current skill tree is like a direct buff to ME!!

They put all the jewel sockets in the paths that I took anyway! I usually allocated my points by grabbing all the attribute nodes and running around the tree and stopping just short of the notables. Then grabbing the notables all at once. Now this style of passive point allocation is even more viable because I can just stop at all the jewel sockets before taking the bigger nodes. Level 20 Scion with 5 jewel sockets? Yes, thank you.
I got 3 jewel slots right on my paths, too, which is a nice feeling, but I think my build will need to be improved by pathing out of the current areas to places that I can maybe get even better bonuses now that jewels are a thing.

For example, the socked clearly meant for intuitive leap, wherein I will get the 15% more energy shield node behind CI.

Yeah, but I wouldn't make any plans with intuitive leap just yet. When some of the more broken intuitive leap combos got mentioned to Chris, he went - 'oh, we haven't really finished balancing tree and jewels', so I wouldn't count on getting something like Mortal Conviction or Phase Acrobatics that easily.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Current state of beta tree means i will need additional 3 points to keep my build the same (staric strike scion). If i want to get 3 jewels around the tree, it will require additional 7 or 8 points. There is way too many stat nodes in new tree.

Out of all Scion jewel socket max 2 have good positions for that unique jewel that let you allocate points withou nodes being connected to your path. And obviously you must first get such jewel in the first place.

I hope GGG will trim down the fluff from the tree.
Keep in mind you're getting a few more skill points in A4.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Uhm. The closest jewel slot to mortal conviction is waaay too far away for intuitive leap's radius. I think that was very deliberate.

Whereas the jewel slots near Infused Shield and Phase Acrobatics are pretty clearly there on purpose. Because they're absurdly close (literally right next door), and are a "fourth passive after a chain of 3 shitty passives"

Sure, Mortal Conviction was just the most obvious example. I believe there's quite a bit of deliberation left about which passives they want us to get with the jewel and which will be a no-no. Currently, jewel sockets are fairly symmetrically distributed and I guess devs like that, but there are also big gaps and crowded areas so I don't think these locations are final. Besides, it shouldn't be a problem to move the whole CI cluster if needed, or any other.

i hear you, but the good news is that you get 3 more passive points from quests now with act4, so youll end up in exactly the same place at the same level after the patch.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
