Steam and Item Filter

I am having trouble getting the Item Filter running.

I am playing via steam
I have copied and name an existing Filter
I have made sure it has the extension .filter
I have placed it in the steam path of exile folder.

When I start the game and go to the UI tab in Options, I do not get any option for the Item Filter. Anyone any ideas on where I have gone wrong?

Figured it out. I had my file extensions set to hide.

everything the same

my file extensions aren't set to hide, and its still not working :(
I think you have wrong folder.
I'm not running through steam but anyway, it's saying.
"My Documents/My Games /Path of Exile" folder.

try this

^That is the right folder for steam users too.
i did the same thing , placed on mygames/ Path of Exile/

still nothing
I had the same issue, it showed in beta after a full redownload, but live i'm having to redownload the live client as well.
Steam Client user.
So what you guys are doing is probably just re naming the file name and not actually changing the file type. I noticed that is what I did the first time I tried it and fixed it.

Here are the steps you will want to do.

Open up your control panel
Appearance and Personalization
Folder Options
View Tab
Uncheck the box that says "hide extensions for known file types"

Go back to My Documents/MyGames/PathofExile or wherever you have your POE folder (this is the same place even if you have steam. Do not load this txt file into the default steam folder.)

You should now be able to rename it and rename the suffix

When you rename it whatever.filter it will prompt you that it may now not work. Click accept and it should work.
That does nothing, that is not the issue we are having. I have my item filter set up correctly. Its in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile. Its set to the correct file type "Test.Filter" the file time is classed as a "FILTER file". The issue I and some others are having is in-game in our UI options at the bottom of the list we get no option for loot filters, the whole setting is missing.

Ive tried every fix I could find, I even reinstalled it through steam. I might try installing it from the website later. If anyone has a fix that doesn't have to do with my file but rather the game that would be great.

Thank you for your reply none the less, glad some people are trying to help.
That is a different issue then what these guys are having. PM me the filter you are using. I will look through and see if i can spot any errors.
if you have a CAP F instead of a lower case f in .filter, it will also not work...just a heads up
