While it's correct that some summoner builds are fine, I really think that EVERY gem should be a viable main gem.
Or to put it differently: It should be viable to be a SRS summoner, it should be ok to go spectres and it should be doable to have your damage come primarily from skeletons. Same goes for the other summons...
I really hate that 1) skeletons 2) animate weapons 3) animate guardian aren't just niche, they're useless. And the fact that other summoner spells work fine is NOT adressing this problem...

I'd really like to go for an "animate" build, with a tanky guardian and dozens of temporary swords etc flying around. Is it even close to viable? No...

But people destroyed leagues with a animate build. They went for double ele aura (maybe triple) and the only hard thing was to get started. As soon as he got a few first kills the weapon train started to destroy the map.

It was basicly like SRS except the weapons lived a lot longer. The only annoying thing with that build is getting the start and you cant really use it till you get a really nice +duration setup.

Oh and it gets annoying on the eyes always looking for stuff to animate, but thats just the nature of the build.

The only real weakness of it was bosses that could kill all the weapons before they died. As once you lost your whole army it was nearly impossible to replace it.

With the shotgun changes have there been plans to look at caster specter damage?
Nope. GGG has bad habit of nerfing something and not changing monsters to acomidate. Case in point burned miscreations
