how does everyone use so little mana.
Effectiveness of mana leech heavily depends on your build, I for example easily sustain a 5L cleave on a mere 1% of mana leech.

There are two kind of skills right now:
A skill like Freezing Pulse, which adds base damage. A skill like Cleave or Tornado shot, which adds a % to your base. If you are using one of the last mentioned skills, simply dont level them up until you are 70+. This solves a lot of mana problems at the beginning and the damage loss is marginal. Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

2.0 might change that though, considering Gem level bonuses are going to be multiplicative it seems. It's at the very least worth it to look up your Attack of choice on the Wiki to see when the Mana Cost increases. Tornado Shot can deal 7% more Base Damage without increasing in Cost, for example :)

" ya it depends on a fair few things, damage, attack speed etc. Im sustaining a 6 link tornado shot off 1% mana leech on my gloves running 2x 60% auras with no aura nodes. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

the power of crit ,
leech gets better the larger your damage is and the larger your base pool size is. it tends to be an issue when leveling , but once you get inot the 80s , you will easily have enough of a mana pool just from the implicit amount you get per level to have a leech cap well over the cost of most 6l attack skills. |

Mana leech. In my experience 4-5% should sustain most builds. Else, go for mana regeneration. A higher mana pool shouldn't get much investment.
I like many kinds of games 😊

Some gems aren't balance IMO. Some gems use way to much mana and other hardly any. Lightning strike+curse on hit+ multistrike + gmp + elemental weakness uses only 26 mana.

" yeah, cant hurt to start hitting lvl19/20 reduced mana too mana pool size shouldnt be disregarded, because the amount of mana you can recover per second is capped at a % of your max mana, so you will hit a cap no matter how much mana leech you have, the higher your base pool the more mana per sec you cna get from your cap. Base mana regen is also calculated from a % of your max mana, so again the more mana you have, the higher your base mana regen, the more % mana regen is doing for you as its multiplying that base. this feeds into the EB debate currently going on, some people take EB but theyre not using MoM, not using AA, not using the regen from excessive mana from EB to fuel their skills for free theyre simply grabbing the node along with getting a few 100 es on gear somewhere to increase the size of their mana pool so that their mana per second recovery cap is increased and allows their mana leech to be more effective, rather than hitting a ceiling where no amount of leech in the world will be able to fuel their attacks. One of the uses of mechanics in this game that may well fall victim to trying to balance a unique item sadly. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Apr 20, 2015, 2:35:36 PM
