Disabling the heralds visual effect (glowing hands)

i would really like to have the visual effects of the heralds on one of my chars diasbled because they tend to bugg out with a shield equipped and also kinda overwritte my ghostflame weopon effect (its placed on a dagger, combined with the heralds visual effect it tends to get lost).
Also i kinda dont like the appearance of them, but thats a personall thing^^
As far as i know there is no option yet to do this and maybe iam the only one interested in such a thing, but it could be a thing for the new expansion?

Seconded. This would be nice to have because the Heralds don't all look that great and clash with glove skin and weapon skins. Especially if you have short weapon like claw or dagger. Herald of Ice looks bad.
I agree (thirded?). They are in a kind of a same state as auras were before visual nerfs on them - have more than one running and shit gets messy and ugly.

I find this post to be well reasoned, and it's sad to say, that's a compliment ^-^ This is an old topic, but other posters seemed to want to change the base appearance of the heralds (rather than the option to). IMHO, the heralds are pretty cool in that they provide an mtx-like appearance that doesn't cost $$ like an mtx. I definitely don't want that to change. But it doesn't work for every (most?) character(s). Instead, it tends to stand out and clash horribly with the "theme" players (might have) spent money to develop for their characters.

Heralds are not alone in this regard; I have intentionally avoided using Tempest Shield for the same reason, even when it was an obvious choice for my builds. It used to be the same way with Sun Leathers, etc, even when they were the best rolled item in my stash. I wouldn't use them simply because I didn't like the way they looked. For those, at least, we can buy skin transfers, but we have no option for skill gem effects.

There should be a purchasable "hide effect" cosmetic that can be applied to various skills. It wouldn't function in PvP (since visual indicators are important there) but would make any single reservation based (or reservation similar, like AA) skill's effect disappear, so it wouldn't clash with a character's other cosmetics.

Just like how we were freed from having to make gear choices based upon cosmetic value, we could be free of making gem choices for the same reason as well. And let's face it, the bottom line is this game is funded by people who care about how their character looks. Imo, this needs to have been an option yesterday.

P.s., speaking of yesterday, where the fuck is our reclaim all button? <3

P.p.s., I also think it'd be kind of awesome if you offered a skin transfer (or gem hide) as a ~second/third tier race reward.

pretty much everyone is running with at least one herald, some are more than flashy. it looks.. homogenized

it is bit strange that stuff like herald of ash is more flashy (in a good way) than most mid-priced weapon effects. and what is worse - it cannot be turned off (visually ofc)
I'd like to be able to turn off aura effects as well.

Would be covered by my "gemhide" plan.

Seriously, these things would sell like hot cakes ^-^

Totally agree with Pants, especially about Tempest Shield. Man I hate that effect.

Same for me ... i actually never use tempest shield because of the visual effect .... heralds are not as bad but i'd still prefer to be able to turn the visal effect off. Not to mention that it pops-out of your shield...
