Full passive respec quest?
Hey guys, sort of new here, and I wanted some info.
Is there some sort of a one time full respec for passives quest later on in the game? Because I've seen those forget orbs and some respec points from quests that... don't really do much. After I kept leveling up and gained new skill gems, my whole character play style changed thus more than half of the points I've spent became quite useless. Some people told me that there are times when everyone gets a complete respec, but why not give one for each character as a quest reward for the final act or something? Is grinding those forget orbs the only way? Thanks~ Last bumped on May 4, 2016, 7:35:43 PM

We'll be getting a full respec when patch 1.4 drops, I imagine - any significant changes to the Passive Tree is usually accompanied by a full reset so it doesn't just brick everyone and leave them that way.
Good news is, you can usually buy Orbs of Regret relatively cheaply (a chaos or 2 each), or you can convert Orbs of Scouring into Regrets. It doesn't take long to farm up 50 or 60 (that was one of the first bits of farming I ever did in the game because I ruined my first character). EDIT: Also if you do all the Quests that have respec points as rewards, I think you get 16 or 18 or something after all 3 difficulties? I can never remember. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. Thanks for the answer, I also kind of ruined my character and re rolling is a bit frustrating for me because I don't get much game time. Is there a specific location where you can farm those orbs btw?

" Hello, Unfortunately there isn't, just because that is why orb of regrets exist. However at the beginning of each expansion, or mini-expansion GGG give players a full passive tree reset because of changes that happen on the tree. I actually would be in favor of allowing a one-time passive respec perhaps at the end of merciless after doing the last boss which currently is dominus but won't be in the expansion. But that wont happen. But yeah the only way currently is through farming regrets. Bored!

The problem with incorporating a full respec quest is everybody will just make a temporary build for leveling and then switch to their desired endgame build. It would cheapen the whole process. There are a couple full respecs a year when they change the tree. That is plenty.

I usually hate the full respecs, so I'm grateful that this time around it takes especially long until the next expansion hits. :D
For unfortunate players that bricked a char and don't want to make a new one this is not really satisfying, though. But Orbs of Regret exist, as others pointed out, so just trade for those. Farming them yourself is, in my experience, not really the fastest way to success, especially when you feel your character isn't working properly. Bird lover of Wraeclast

It is very common to brick your first character. If you find rerolling frustrating this early in your "PoE time" you should probably look for another game.
GGG wants you to reroll as much as possible hence no full respec and temporary leagues being the main game. You will have to get used to that and honestly it is not that bad. I often enjoy leveling a new build more than grinding maps. |

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess I'll just have to re roll a character because I can't really farm with it either nor do I have a lot of currency to buy them.
I didn't want to reroll because I have very little game time and not because I feel lazy to do it or because it is hard or anything. I wish they gave us at least 30 re allocation points throughout the game though but, oh well. It's literally the only thing in the game that buggs me a bit, the rest I find amazing. Thanks again guys, happy gaming~ |

" Not sure how the process could be cheapened much more than it is. Currently, you just use some OP skill and leveling gear to bring yourself up to where you can get your actual build up and running. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

"You do get 18 respec points throughout the game and finding 12 orbs of regret during that time is fairly likely, so I think what you desire already exists. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>
