Path of Exile too easy?

PoE is only easy if you play in leagues where you receive virtually no punishment for dying.

That would require dying, on the first play-through.
Seriously, a player can stand still, go grab and sandwich, come back, and not be dead. That is too easy. WAY to easy.
You can make it as hard as you want to.

Don't trade. Sure way to hard.

Don't look at build guides which have everything optimized.

Don't play the most OP skills.

Play true glass cannons. Like select no life on gear or tree only DPS nodes.

But yeah you min max all to hell game is easy. Funny you mention d3 as "easy" they have endless rifts meaning endless difficulty. PoE could learn something here.

One of the things I liked, really liked in the original Diablo, was that I could enter I higher difficulty. If I play through the game once with a given character, I'm very likely to start another character, not immediately play the same game with a already built character. From a programming standpoint it is NOT that hard to add difficulty. 5% damage/health increase when bad guys are instantiated. Literally if you're not a ten year old armchair champion, this game turns into way to easy, way too fast, unless, as the last poster suggested you just don't use any skill gems or passives.

How am I supposed to get excited if there is absolutely no danger of failure?
Since the beta this has been a thing, and accommodating the players who want more challenge is seriously a two hour job. It's a getter for the global difficulty, and a setter for the local adjustments in the base enemy class.

Now I am reading threads about more difficulty in the later acts now, which I doubt, as this has been a massive criticism since day one.

It's also been read that leagues and such are providing a difficulty.

What if I don't want to play a league, but bash through with the family, instead of a bunch of pre puberty strangers?

I really would like a dev to explain why the people who want harder can't have harder, without playing through 3 times...
