Is desync really fixed in act 4?

There is negativity on this change unjustifiably. A lot of people stating it is now a "pick your poison" or one problem instead of another.

Sorry but unless it is completely client side or off-line, not one game exists which has a perfect online system with no latency/desync - so to expect GGG a much smaller company to somehow magically come up with one is absurd. Some games which have tried to add some client-side only options (i.e. Aion) are now rife with hackers.

The way I see it, you get to decide between delay or rubber banding/constant re-syncing of the game.

Both are not too noticeable with good latency, both are really noticeable with high latency. It just depends whether you would rather see your character do stuff instantly as requested even though it may not be accurate - or if you prefer everything to be 100% accurate, at the cost of that delay/smoothness of the current system.

I will go try the new system, which will be similar to Dota/LoL mechanics simply because, I am happy to sacrifice a bit of smoothness for accuracy - as at the moment, both rubber banding and also appearing to attack the air simply detracts from the game too much for me.

As a new system, it isn't going to be perfect, but as something I wanted years ago, really happy they decided to try it out.

Please stop the negativity - they have not only added a new option for how you want to play BUT are still improving desync issues of the current system at hand. Nothing is being ignored. People are asking for too much.

FYI the posts so far might seem negative but they are realistic and trying to put a stop to the rampant OMG desync is fixed gushing thats going to happen atm before it turns to OMG desync isn't fixed(which is what you are saying in your post) when act 4 is open to the public...even if it manages to pull it off there will still be some that claim desync because they don't understand and have an easy scape goat to place blame on

I don't appear to be implying desync is being fixed. Pretty sure I stated no game can completely remove desync/latency issues - and that you are now given the option to have the game play differently, as well as GGG improving desync of the current system.

What more are you guys actually asking for? A complete re-write of everything? Seems unreasonable.

Rampant, unjustified optimism is just as damaging as all the negativity that breeds on these forums. While you may be moderate in your expectations, a lot of people are going wild heralding the death of desync and are already picking out what outfits to wear while dancing on its grave.

The truth is that while desync is being worked on and it is likely that it will be improved somewhat, but it will never be completely eliminated. This is the one, correct time to bring out the argument which the "lel, speed-of-light noob, l2internets" crowd are so fond of spewing ad nauseam. The changes will bring their own host of problems but hopefully the end result will be a gaming experience which is better than it currently is but still not perfect.

Don't count your piss droplets before they are spilled. And by this I mean the stream of urine people are already spraying all over desync's grave.

You take this way too serious. But im still not seeing the apology. It has been worked on and they will keep working on it as they said they would.

Your post made no sense.

GGG has been insulted and slapped in the face so many times with the constant distrust and whiny behavior about desync, "fix desync" posts and threads are a dime a dozen. They do deserve an apology.
Perhaps my post will make sense if I explain that I am a cynical, jaded bastard who has nothing for contempt for the human race and always expects the absolute worse from everyone and their dog.

I was pointing out that although an apology might (and my cynicism also prompts me to emphasize the might) be due to GGG, expecting one is akin to expecting people to spontaneously see reason, wars to end, the rich to uplift the poor out of squalor out of the goodness of their hearts and lesbian unicorns to shower the world with sprays of chocolate flavoured goodness and love.

In short, your demand for an apology is nothing more than a not-so-subtle yet still veiled way of saying "I told you so." If you want to be smug and self-satisfied (like me), at least be open about it.

Did they reveal anything else about this in reddit? I am not using it and have no idea how to navigate it.
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.
