Why doesn't POE have mounts?

Fwiw I didn't think the idea was as bad as some of the responses would suggest. It's not a concept I'd want to see implemented, but I do at least see where you're coming from with it.

I see that no one has mentioned the real reason GGG hasn't added mounts.
Poop. I'm don't want to step in or smell that gunk, and I doubt most characters would be willing to swap out their off hand gear for a scooper.... I did propose a solutuon in another thread awhile back, that would be poopless and easy for GGG to implement. Coconut riding sound effects, in two flavours of course, African and European. Thank you for taking a serious thread on a subject which could possibly improve the game, either in the form of a ride-able mount or a pet mount which can provide other benefits like loot pick up, and turning it into a troll fest.

" Rideable mount? Not gonna be needed in a game where you use movespeed to get around. Youre saying to pay for more movespeed and thats P2W, GGG doesnt do P2W. Same thing with loot pick up, something that picks up loot for you is P2W, as when someone doesnt pay for a mount he doesnt get the same loot pick up as you do. So again, not gonna happen. |

While im against the idea of mounts, for some reason i really want a cloud lately..

I think mounts can work in the form of skill gems:
- Character summons a mount - Reserves life and/or mana Depending on the type of mount, it could have varying effects: - Increased movement speed (being the obvious one) - Increased defence (riding on a bear, perhaps?) - Increased spell damage (unicorn?) - The mounts could attack and/or cast spells too. - etc, etc. This opens up a whole new world for micro transactions (mount skins), which I am sure people would love, and will provide an additional revenue stream for GGG. |
