What is your honest opniion about Grim Dawn compared to POE?
LOL!
People cheat, game become boring, people blame the game. What the fuck is wrong with kids now-a-days? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I've played both and I enjoy both.
I prefer Grim Dawn and it's potential more than I do Path of Exile's. I know Act 4 is coming out and I will play again when it comes out. I'm tired of mapping as end game. The most brilliant thing about Grim Dawn's drop system are the MIs (monster infrequent items). The guaranteed base items that seldom drop but are meaningful; these can also drop with prefixes and suffixes on them for some insane combinations. They are found only on some monsters or bosses and have an impact on style of play. This also speaks poorly of PoE's item system for rares - They're bland. That said, the Forsaken Masters patch went a long way to make items and end game more interesting. |

I think they are different enough from each other that I happily play both. I really like Titan Quest and Immortal Throne so it was easy to get into Grim Dawn. Now they've expanded the game much further it's even better.

It's quite alright to enjoy more than 1 game, you know.
I'm currently playing Grim Dawn and enjoying it more than a little. As others have said, it's still a work in progress, so not something that could replace POE even if you wanted it to. As far as long-term replayability, POE beats GD, but then it beats everything else as well, doesn't it? Will be interesting to see what (if anything) Grim Dawn comes up with as far as end-game farming/maps/etc. Not the 2nd coming, but definitely worth the 12$ or so I spent at the Steam sale =) |

" The trailer is actually quite old and will be different later on when it's closer to release. I believe they will have something like 2d images with voice over and probably show parts of gameplay. " Yes it will. I believe it will be late 2015 - exact date isn't known but the devs have said that it will be released in 2015. " It gets plenty of updates and posts from the devs. Content releases are released at a fast rate but every 2nd week they have an update showing what will be coming out in the future/what they are working on. Plus the dev team size for each company is different. GD used to only have 2 people and now have like 8 while GGG started with more and now has a lot more. " Torchlight 2 still has quite a few players - right now like 1700 on Steam (I've once seen 4k) which is pretty good for an old ARPG. Modding brings a lot of replay value as well like with TQ the Soulvizier mod was great. D2 Median XL was also well done. In any case comparing an unfinished game to one that has been out for a number of years is to me a bit odd. A number of features are still not in and there are still Act 3 part 3 and Act 4 to be released. For what there is you can definitely play the game for a good chunk of hours. For what will come that amount of hours will easily be increased by a lot. I would always suggest to people who aren't sure on getting the game to just wait until release and look at videos then or check out the main website forums on what is being done. GD has a lot of potential. |
