Currency Drop Rate

I really love this game but I am totally lost on how the hell you're supposed to get 5-links or 6-links, or nice gear, without spending real money on RMT sites.

5 links are 150 fuses from crafting. 6 links are supposed to be end game gear - not casually playing a few weeks gear - as GGG has said before.

is what it is yo

the drop rates in this game are a complete and utter joke. they hide behind the excuse of, " if we increase drop rates it will ruin the economy"

I have 800 hrs played and only had 2 EX drops. This is unacceptable to me.

The most powerful way to obtain enough orbs is by trading with other players - selling gear, flippin' orbs, etc..

Other ways that will take longer are:

* level your master to 6, where they start to sell you bulk orbs for a discount
* do the chaos recipe - vendor full set of ilvl 60+ gear for 1 chaos, if unidentified for 2 chaos, if ilvl 75+ for 1 regal
* pick up all rares & vendor for alt shards -> alts -> jew -> fus
* grind maps with high quantity, which gives bonus to orb drop rates
* roll a dedicated MF char with IIQ & IIR gear
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
What Morbo says. Only the thing with the high quantity maps is not truely necessary in my opinion. It does not make a huge change at all if you have high quantity. Especially when you have to burn a lot of orbs to get mod-combos you can do. I would say that you should only chose the quantity-path when your character is able to own nearly every mod. Otherwise you will spent a lot of chaos-orbs on a map that will give you some fusings and maybe a blessed ;)

The Sirus fight is a disgrace.
Just a conspiracy theory. GGG are increasing drop rates when player population are starting to drop like flies to rope them in.
Drop rate is built around trading so if you want orbs fast then learn to trade. I dont even bother, too much hassle for me, without an AH you cant trade in this game fast enough to still keep playing.
I see. Thanks for the information. I did not know about the alteration transformation recipe/whatever.

Some people were all "be more hardcore" in their posts. I have been no lifing this game for three weeks. Lol. I literally have been playing ALL day.

I understand your point, that the drop rates are extremely low to keep the econ and check and what not, but in my humble opinion, they are ridiculously low. Not going to stop me from playing and grinding/farming though. On a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being casual friendly, this game is a -6741.998830

Can't argue with math!

This game is only good for killing monsters or trading all day, you have to stick with one of these 2 things. This game wasnt made with the purpose of doing the monster slaying part with trading on the side, trading is the main aspect, monster killing is just some side effect to get the orbs and items.

Funny thing is the drop rate is made for trading but other than a trade chat and forum we got no actual tool "yet" for doing it in an easy and fast and efficient way. I spent an hour or 2 trying to get some chroms, was pretty sad, the crafting is build around trading too so i wasted tons of orbs and that even with the masters.
math always wins!! ;)

the game is perfectly fine for casuals, a true casual accepts that he may never get BIS gear and that things simply take longer. problem here is that people want to play casually but still expect to just get everything handed to them...

have a look on the googles for 'poe vendore recipes', they can come in handy for making more poe$$$

Exactly. I dont expect to ever find a shavs, not evne just for my collection, i just play for the build diversity, i know i will never do atziri either, that is for people who play the trading game then buy their bis rares and uniques and 20/20 gems and faceroll the whole thing.
