How to reach max block with a Witch

Hi everyone,

I read tons of stuff so far however most is outdated or a bit unclear.
Afaik raising block chance starts from your shield. I never understood how people (as a witch),
reach the 75/78% cap.

1. Rathpith Globe has 25% Block Chance. So you need 53% additional block chance form somewhere else to reach the cap.

2. The Anvil grants 8% block chance.

3. Tempest Shield another 4%.

4. Boots will be Rainbowstride to get Spell Block. So far we have 37% block. Where on earth is the remaining 41% coming from? The few nodices are super far away from each other and wont add up to that total either....

How to get max Block + max Spell Block with a witch?

I also wonder if I want to have the aoe spells from the witch, if there is maybe a better char who can go max block/spellblock and still use stuff like flame blast, firestorm efficently...

For Spellcaster builds, max block ain't the goal especially after the nerf. You settle for about 50 block/50 spell.

Not by starting witch or shadow. I'm sure it's possible, but it wouldn't be efficient at all. The guides you're reading are probably pre-1.3.

Maxblock as Duelist :

I want someone who can fire out strong aoe magic like firestorm or fireblast. Any other char than witch who can do this? I am fairly new to this game. And I do not like to play non mage chars.

Who is telling you to max out block? You definitely don't want to max out block on a Witch spellcaster or any spell caster like firestorm or flameblast really since you'll do no damage.

what is AA and CoD?

Nobody told me to max out 75% block, I just want to do this because I like this the most when playing mage chars.

Aah okay, that might be different games but in this one you won't be maxing out block on spellcasters any time soon =)
