How Frequent are Currency Sales?

I've been enjoying Path of Exile for a couple days and decided that I ought to buy the devs a beer, so to speak, in exchange for the fun I've had so far. However, I was reading the cost of arctic footprints as $1.75 when I made that decision, and soon came to find out that they're actually $17.50.
Holy #$%@. That's not a beer, that's a steak dinner at a nice restaurant. How often does in-game currency go on sale, and how big a discount should I expect to receive when it does? I'd like to support GGG, but the satisfaction of supporting the community only goes so far. If I can pick up the currency at 75% off during Steam sales I might just hold out until that's an option and get myself some shiny footprints, but right now it's real hard to justify $20 for a tiny graphic I can only use on a single character. |

points never go on sale, you can reclaim effects and use them on as many characters as you want just not at the same time

You can use it on any character, you just have to swap it around. If you drop $10 a month then you'd have those shiny footprints sooner than you think.

The items in the store go on sale, but the currency does not.
You can always spend those points on Stash Tabs. Those go on sale fairly regularly and you won't regret buying them if you play much. | |

Points don't go on sale, but microtransactions themselves do. There are daily deals, plus occasional larger sales.
That said, if you want "value for money" when purchasing points, and can afford to do so, get a pack rather than just buying the points. Have you done something awesome with [url=http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Sire_of_Shards]Sire of Shards[/url]? PM me and tell me all about it!

The packs seem to offer the same $0.10 rate that the individual purchases do, so I don't see any savings there. Am I missing something?

" Just get what you like, supporter packs are nice b/c you get a small 'bonus' of points plus various cosmetic effects. Me, I don't buy MTX stuff except for one pet and one portal effect, the rest - 46 Premium Stash Tabs ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
