yeah right

noone uses it in pvp, it sells for alts. there are reasons for that - mainly one: SD actually MAKES a difference early game, same as cast speed etc perks this wand doesnt have

for leveling.. available at lvl24, useful till 31 (spell echo). 7 levels. less than an hour of gameplay.

No, I did not. What if you haven't gotten a spell echo gem yet? Hard for a standard player to understand. But in new leagus, that's a BiS item.

Agree with slayer, although a +1 gem wand with spell dmg/cast speed definately beats the unique one.

Agree with thread that most uniques desperately need a buff/rework and GGG has to stup implementing more and more trash uniques that are worth NOTHING...

yeah this is debatable, for one thing don't use bis on an item you only a few posts ago called a leveling / low level pvp item.

However, what its purpose is abundantly clear , easy 4l. that is all it is. most people make the very wrong assumption that unique items especially low level unique items are supposed to be the dominant item to use.

no what unique items are .. are cheap versions of good rares. good rares . are rare... how rare? getting a rare item that is maybe 10 - 20% better than a similarly leveled unique is probably about 10 - 30 times rarer than the unique.

hell most of my leveling gear is rare in standard. but that is exactly what ggg said would happen.

so yeah once you are established , leveling unique items have served their purpose.

i do like these sweet-talk about leveling uniques and some romantic tales about how a certain item change the face of the Earth due to being good between lvl 30 and 35... it doesnt


'leveling' in poe ATM is a trivial rush up to cruel domino (when you party up in HC or zerg him in SC). ive done enough self-found fresh starts to know that up around lvl 40 one can wear ANYTHING (in HC!) as long as he uses flasks properly. leveling uniques.. such a romantic idea (im talking about 'leveling' uniques like this rod, not about trully OP-for-its-level stuff like Goldrim. Goldrim is a truly 'you've won' drop while leveling)


so a wand that has lvl24 requirement and its sole reason to be is the echo gem (and +1) is suddenly BiS 'leveling' wand? currently people can vendor-craft +1 weapon they need with SD or cast speed or whatever. spell echo is a nice perk but hardly needed. pretty meh rare wand with +1, mana regen (THE most important stat while leveling! unless one likes mana-flask dub), SD and cast speed blows it out of the water. and one can and do find such stuff before normal ledge.


one can tell that spell echo saves mana.. that is only partially true without base mana/regen. and esp in HC that 'root time' (pretty long due to no cast speed bonuses) is pretty dangerous.


or did you mean 'flameblast leveling wand'?
